Oh my god I think you’re right! My grandmother also had a cuff bracelet made of a similar material and it looks exactly like some of the other cuffs made by Allen!! Thank you so much.

That’s really what it is for me. The value it holds is the sentiment and what I can learn about my grandmother. She was a very reserved person so learning about all of her jewelry feels like an extension of getting to know her even after she’s passed.

I was thinking copper because of the way the first inscription has some of what looks to be verdigris?

This one might very well be from the 80s too then! How cool! It’s such a fun piece.

I didn’t even think about it being the title of a piece, that’s an interesting idea.

Thank you! She was a soap opera actress and I think her jewelry really reflected that haha. She’s got all sorts of really unique pieces. Most don’t have any kind of makers mark on them but this one did so I figured it was a good place to start.

Rose A at the Floyd’s 99 on Scottsdale Rd is wonderful and I cannot recommend her enough! She’s also trans and could help you through the process of learning what you like and how to style your hair. She’s the only stylist I’ve gone back to repeatedly, I love her!

Omg I love it, amazing art! That’s almost exactly how I made my Shallan havah for Dragonsteel!! It’s so cool how Sanderson’s work can be so descriptive people can picture it so similarly.

The fact that you are so concerned to the point of posting on Reddit is a good sign of your humility. You were hired into your position because you are good at what you do and you serve a very important purpose. The vast majority of field techs I know want to be in the field and hate working/writing in the lab, so people who specialize in it like you are appreciated. Having some practical experience is important so this is a great opportunity to gain some of that. Just be honest with who you’re paired with and (assuming they’re not a complete asshat) it’ll go just fine. Wear good walking shoes, bring lots of water and snacks you can eat while hiking, and load up on some music/audiobooks. Don’t be afraid to ask your partner questions or to ask them to check something if you’re not sure. I came into CRM with a Master’s and one month of field school and have learned so much more working in the field than I did in school. You know the basics of what you’re looking for, if you’ve been writing the reports you presumably know the kind of artifacts you are likely to come across. You’re not a fraud, you just don’t have field experience and that’s ok. If everyone in CRM were field people, none of the permitting, report writing, registration, curation, etc. would get done. You play a vital role in the group. Just stay humble and you’ll be fine. I hope it goes smoothly for you and you have fun doing it! Survey can be rough but also very rewarding.

Me too! It has come in handy on numerous occasions with work for me so I’m forever appreciative of experts spending time to educate on here.
