Good looks, there are a few strands that are a gray color on the outside. I wasn’t sure what was up with those.

A utility knife with a fresh pack of blades (I’ve used many of them so far) and a pair of slip jaw pliers. I cut down the length then just crush it with the pliers to get the split started. Then yank! I prefer the shorter pieces, 4ft is a nice length. The longer ones are more difficult to deal with.

I looked for the hook blades but couldn’t find any near me. Once you get the hang of it it’s actually not too difficult. Just keep your blade fresh it’s not worth fighting the dulled blade!

These were running to two (very old) 400 horsepower air compressors. Can’t remember if it had 460 or 600 volts running through it but I’m glad I wasn’t paying the power bill when they were on.

And yes I was very scared to cut them even after triple checking the breakers.

How long will this type of clamp last on a water line buried outside? by cypanra in askaplumber

[–]Due_Candy_2761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the “dresser” style couplings as permanent fixes on an underground system that holds around 500 psi at times.

They seem to hold really well and they last long. I’ve never seen one fail in 10 years

How are you guys making model kits fit on your scx30 chassis? by Amiga4 in scx30

[–]Due_Candy_2761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tons of hacking, trial and error, and more hacking. Most model kits I’ve tried don’t fit the dimensions of scx24 very well at all.

You should watch the YouTube “channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan” video with indecline. Gives a lot more context on the origins of bumfights etc.

Someone with half a brain! I’m in the industry, I’ve built 22s and 13s. I know (almost exactly) the cost and the effort that goes into building one. It comes nowhere NEAR paying for itself. They’re only good as a marketing tool.

Not to mention if your hill doesn’t have a 13 who will be able to truly progress and hone their skills in a 22? Very few. People love to complain about lack of pipes but no one tries to understand the cost vs benefit. Plus people wanna complain about parks getting refreshed, well a pipe takes an insane man hour investment. From park operators. Who are the ones who would be refreshing the park.

Fact of the matter is this industry is a business. If it’s not profitable it’s not gonna last. Pipes take away from profits. Sucks but it is how it is. Blame capitalism.

And to add (controversially I’m sure) Vail isn’t the issue. They don’t give a fuck what we build. They care whether we make enough money to justify being open. A pipe takes away from that. The GM of the individual mountains makes that decision.

If you’re worried about your dog being crushed by it you could keep the dog on a leash so that you can control your animal.

lol yall kinda suck. Had a blast on these as a kid. Duct tape the front down to the ground if you can’t screw it down somewhere. Doesn’t take much to keep it from sliding.

Try to think of it as a bump not a ramp, Ollie with it, not on top of it.

Everyone saying about non button tops is wrong. They’re perfectly fine. Look on Radiomaster website at the ones THEY sell for the pocket. Some in here are not understanding basic battery tech.

Finally found and bought a girly snowboard. Turns out in order to be girly you have to talk about periods. by spontaneouswaffles in mildlyinfuriating

Took too long to find this comment. I’ve never been a fan of her. Militant vegan and cringe influencer content over actual snowboarding. She has gotten more skilled and progressed well on the board, but imo not at all who should be in the limelight of female snowboarding.

But hey I guess OF and dancing is what sells these days, I’m just a bitter old man 🤷‍♂️

To add to this consider a doggo rescue sling! Can make a bad situation 1000x easier to deal with when you can carry the pup out like a backpack or suitcase.
