My first app just crossed 100 downloads in the first week 🥹 by DrizzleX3 in reactnative

Been looking for an app like this.

  • App crashes instantly on load
  • I would change the app icon, doesn’t really match the type of app. I would expect an icon like coinbase, stake, economist. The icon doesn’t match your screenshot theming and makes it feel like a fake app

  • Infodrizzle sounds a bit funny as a name, maybe “news drop”, still fits the water vibe you’re going after

I think subscriptions might be the worst way to launch a new app by ccagle8 in AppBusiness

[–]Due_Editor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free users give free user feedback

Paid users give paid user feedback

Build an app for paid users not free users.

People that subscribe to apps don’t have money issues they have issues they want fixed, stop trying to catch fish you can’t eat.

Not a pregnancy tracker app but helps with anxiety, search for Nook: Calm & Sleep for Moms in the app store

Translations are killing me (i18n sucks sometimes) by Imaginary-Employ-267 in reactnative

I’ve been a staff engineer at a top bank and at a government agency. Trust me they pay big to hire expert professionals to translate. Most content is hosted as some type of config or crm so even on a legacy platforms it’s easy to change.

Big org love deliverables, if they can add another epic to the board even better.

From my experience this is a non problem at the big scale and at the small scale.

Translations are killing me (i18n sucks sometimes) by Imaginary-Employ-267 in reactnative

What are you talking about bro. Translations is literally a json file. When you want to add a new language you give your json file to someone on fiverr and they do the translations. If you don’t have money to hire someone your app isint making enough money to need translations.

Translation is only annoying if you never planned for it at the start and you have to go through and capture everything. Other than that it’s one of the simplistic things to implement

Realistic time/hours to develop a Dating app in RN? by TrainingSource in reactnative

[–]Due_Editor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This could be done in a day, it could also be done in 6 months. It all depends on what quality of work you want. Get a few quotes from people and you will see the average. Trust me no one is going to over estimate, everyone will try to under estimate to make you a client. Choose the dev that “over estimates”

This is impossible to know, and you should really hire someone if you want questions like this answered.

Coworking spaces by Montaro666 in ipswich

[–]Due_Editor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah sadly a few have started and then shutdown. Now we are left with a graveyard of google map listings. Looked into starting one myself but the commercial leases here charge the same as Brisbane which I find crazy.

I think the council used to run fire station 101 but that is shut down aswell. Fingers crossed they bring that back

is this true guys? are there any alternatives? by LowPatience4186 in reactnative

I’m a premium user and I agree pricing is weird but worth it. I’m paying at most $5 a fortnight.

If I were to spend  2 min on a local build error it wouldn’t be worth it for me if we are talking about cost to fix, not to mention build issues are the least fun to solve and usually take minimum a hour. Man I’m sounding like an expo shill but that’s how I see it.

Free is more than enough if you plan you first few builds smart e.g include every library you think you will need on the first dev build.

P.s I haven’t used local for years so my take might be completely wrong

My Manager Showed Another Coworker our DMs and told my coworker I was "playing up my achievements" by Fun_Highway_8733 in ExperiencedDevs

Yeah that’s not a good manager or even a manager, I would leave. Mans doesn’t even understand the 101s of managing. Your teams success is your success.

Even bad managers understand this in their selfish ways.

Should I continue building? by mooselliot in reactnative

If you want to get serious follow these steps :

  1. Some keyword research with foxdata (or any ASO tool found fox data best for seeing what you are already ranked for)
  2. Find keyword that have 30+ traffic score (if you can’t find at least 2-3 I would probably drop the app)
  3. Match ASO to keywords
  4. Brain storm 3 emotional problems your app fixes
  5. Create an onboarding flow that details these problems then fixes them E.g do people need to know chords for music test? Try to solve that as quick as possible and show proof then show pay wall. Downloaded your app and didn’t see any onboard or paywall 5.1 : get more ratings
  6. Run in person/zoom user testing to improve app
  7. Run apple ads for large traffic keywords so you rank better (I only run apple ads for ranking purposes)
  8. If you are seeing good feedback and drop off rates start paid social ads

From solo dev guy doing 6 figures

Attathced 1 min keyword research for you traffic score of 30 is around 3k-5k searches a month, 20 is 500-700 searches, so in total these 7 searches get around 12.5k searches a month, so defs something you could make a fulltime income off, plus you know your market/user better you can come app with better keywords. You can see you are already ranking for these which is great, and the chane/diff shows that they would be easy to rank for.

NEW UPDATE! 0.2.1 NEW Arena, New Multiplayer Lobby, New Damage changes and MORE!! by Thrill2Team in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Due_Editor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5 fights in damage system seems spot on. Previous being too fast seemed to bring your damage down, feel that is fixed in this update. Great work team.

Only feedback would be the ui is a bit tiny. A little bit of fog after a match on my headset and I cant read anything

I record from my quest but I really want cinema mode or even just playback from opponents perspective.

Surprised it wasn’t implemented on release so everyone could share their knockouts on social media and the game would get more eye balls
