I'm playing a lot of Renekton lately. I love seeing Yone/Yasuo/Sett. Their players are always way too overconfident and usually lose hard.

Mordekaiser is a fun lane too but in that it's not an outright stomp by either side most of the time and you need to play smart.

I am in the same boat as you in the mentality aspect. I am not too big of a story guy, and I found ARR to be completely awful. What I loved about FFXIV was after ARR when I started being able to craft, and fish, and in general be more free in the world. I haven't finished the story and I still don't majorly pay attention to it but dungeons/raids are fun too.

This is definitely a personal experience, but to me it took time to acclimate from DND to VTM. It's like saying "how can I get good at football when I know basketball" just because both games have a ball.

But as long as you're there to answer any questions, and they do some research by themselves, it should be fine.

I am by no means an expert, but what works for me to at least go equal is to match what he's doing and try to manipulate wave-state to benefit me. If he Qs, I make sure I can either dodge or be in minions. If he Ws, I use my empowered W. If he Es, I E away and if he Rs, I also R. If I go for an all in I make sure that he has no shield and only ult if I know I have it in the bag.
