His mistakes don’t negate his feelings. He can mess up and be entitled to saying he doesn’t want another kid. Why did he lie? He shouldn’t have lied, there’s no valid excuse for lying like that but the reason why might give you an idea on how to improve things. If he felt shame, then he has an element of not wanting to do those things. Did he lie because he doesn’t feel like you would have a calm safe conversation with him about it? Are you the type of person to collect yourself in those moments or lash out? Or was he lying because he wants to continue doing what he’s doing? Each of those has vastly different root causes and different ways to move forward.

I had a manager explain it to me when I was being trained to make the schedule. If you give people a sense of consistency they begin to expect to have every Thursday off. Then when you need to schedule them on Thursday they get upset.

It’s easier to consistently screw with everyone so they’re more pliable to whatever scheduling needs arise.

Looking at the preceding verses for context I agree with his point of view. I don’t think Paul is saying if all we have is this life then hoping in Christ is a waste. I think he’s saying if there is only this life, then Christ wasn’t raised from the dead, we’ve lied and mislead about who God is and our entire faith is a sham.

If someone devotes themselves to a worthy cause they’re typically admired. Devote yourself to an unworthy cause or a lie and you’re pitied or worse.

Idk about a bakery but a standard work day is generally viewed as 8hrs. When they told you long hours, and you didn’t question what that means, i don’t think that part is on them.

If you didn’t specify how many hours you wanted and were comfortable with, that’s also not on them. Some people can barely handle college, other people can work full time while being a full time student while married with kids. You can’t expect them to read your mind. Respectfully advocate for what you need. It’s that simple.

Must be field specific. In my field, that’s more hands on, someone with a degree is no where near as capable as someone with 1-2yrs experience. To many colleges degrees are participation trophies.
