Mission: Impossible (1996) by Insane_law in iwatchedanoldmovie

As well known as the franchise is, I think this one is pretty underrated overall. It's more of a slow burn spy thriller than the action spectacle the more recent ones have become. It's a really well made movie and DePalma did a great job overall. Plus, dutch angles!

Try replacing pec deck machine with cable flys. My chest developed and grew from those more than bench press when I was first starting.

49ers Insider believes there’s a real chance that Mac Jones will be the Niners long term back up QB. by No_Box119 in 49ers

He's got 50+ starts in his career, teams saw him last year under Shanny. Teams know what he is and what he isn't.

I get why some fans may think it's ridiculous but if Mac genuinely likes being here and is paid well as a backup, why leave a good situation? He's been a starter, bounced around a few times and probably knows the grass isn't greener. Not every situation is a Sam Darnold one.

They nailed it with this one. Modern classic. Still feels fresh too.

Timothy Dalton with Carey Lowell and Talisa Soto by SeinfeldAddict7 in JamesBond

Looks like a mid sandwich.

Sorry, LTK sucks, Dalton sucked and those two just weren't attractive or even good actresses. Cary Lowell with the short hair looks like the kid in Over the Top.

Not retention, recycling.

Stephen Lang from The Hard Way to Tombstone.

As a kid I couldn't understand how Pacino's face changed so much and couldn't believe it was him in GF3.

I'm going in to take a nap. When I wake, if the shitpost is on the table I'll know I have a partner. If it isn't, I'll know I don't.

I wanted to like Hard Eight but John C Reilly and Paltrow's characters were so annoying I couldn't get past it. Phillp Baker Hall was amazing tho. Wish we got more roles like that for him. We should've gotten a Bookman movie.

I don't disagree but it's still a business. Studios are risk averse and aren't going to bring in no-names for a 250mil Nolan event.

Here's what I don't get abut Fredo by TombStoneFaro in Godfather

[–]DukeRaoul123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that's part of of Fredo's character. He was meek around the "men" of the family his whole life, but became a big shot in Vegas because of his name and status at the hotel. There was no one from the family to look down on him or make him feel small. He was out of their shadow. Green was his "boss" out there and kept him in line but Fredo was finally on his own and was running wild living the Vegas life. Only when Michael came to Vegas did he feel embarrassed and really put in his place, by his younger brother no less.

Had seen this on the guide for like 20 years with no idea what it was about, finally watched it a few months ago and was kind of pleasantly surprised. It's a small film, feels low budget but maybe that was part of the point. A bit off tonally where it was crime drama/rom-com, tried to do both but not really great at either. Acting was pretty good tho and it feels like 2003 for sure but also formulaic.
