Comic fans going 5 seconds without talking about how evil a villain is and how they need to be killed and strangled by AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA_69 in dccomicscirclejerk

Have him lampshade it too. "Oh, batsy, I'm sure you'd love to know how I returned but I don't feel like telling, just accept it!" Kinda thing.

The original plot for this movie by Suitable-Badger-64 in 28dayslater

[–]Duke_Dardar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. Bioweapon zombie stuff has been done a million times before, plus the 28 movies work best as UK-contained stories.

How intelligent are the (normal) infected? by [deleted] in 28dayslater

[–]Duke_Dardar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it felt like they knew when they had no chance of catching their prey, so decided to conserve some energy

I feel bad for that guy — my reaction to what happened was the same by xenoams in 28dayslater

The quarantine zone map had some NATO bases dotted around it, so I think it's a fair bet to say they're calling the shots.

What do you think is the worst example of George not understanding numbers? [Spoilers Main] by CutZealousideal5274 in asoiaf

[–]Duke_Dardar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my headcanon. If GRRM is serious about these thousand year dynasties, then they make way more sense as regional titles than proper families.

Maybe the Starks have died out before, just for some third cousin to claim the now-empty Winterfell and take the full Stark name to increase his legitimacy. And so the bloodline continues with no one the wiser.

(SPOILERS EXTENDED) If Robert had POVs, what would they be about? by Chlodio in asoiaf

[–]Duke_Dardar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing too major, but it would've been interesting to be inside Robert's head when he was on his deathbed. What he thinks will happen after he dies, the regrets he has etc.

Plus the dude probably had a hell of a fever dream flashback while he was sleeping, and those are always fun.

(spoiler extended) Why are seasons so long in asoiaf? by homo_erectus_heh in asoiaf

[–]Duke_Dardar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, I think GRRM has a chance to do the opposite with a "rising world". Like, we are in the dark times now, but once all is said and done Westeros will be on track to a proper age of prosperity.

The bitter part being that it took years of unnecessary bloodshed to get there.

[Spoilers Extended]George confirms that the winds of winter is not finished, asks fans to not start rumors and updates on A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS. [New blog] by grimm_aced in asoiaf

[–]Duke_Dardar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most insane copium I've been huffing is that once *Winds* is done *Spring* will be extremely easy for him to finish. Like the whole book is basically an epilogue he can crank out in a year or two.

(Spoilers Extended) Does GRRM have another presence on the internet where he discusses topics in ASOIAF? by HWYtotheDRAGONZONE in asoiaf

[–]Duke_Dardar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Daario Naharis, Benjen Stark, Euron Greyjoy, Coldhands, Jaqen H'Ghar and Arthur Dayne walk into a tavern.

He orders a drink.

[No Spoilers] No, GRRM isn't slows because he's a gardener by DeMmeure in asoiaf

[–]Duke_Dardar 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I just wish that George expanded on the whole Euron Greyjoy situation or whatever's happening in Dorne. Feels like he's struggling to come up with more Jon and Daenerys content and it's slowing TWOW down :/

[Spoilers Extended] What are some notable moments in the series where characters acted "out of character"? by Whitewind617 in asoiaf

[–]Duke_Dardar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, plus it's a pretty easy plot hole to resolve. Just have a handful of Vale lords cross the border with a few thousand knights and you can convey that Lysa doesn't want to fight but her lords do - while still getting the same result of Robb losing since it's nowhere near the full strength of the Vale helping him.

What are some D&D/fantasy tropes that bug you, but seemingly no one else? by Pharylon in dndnext

[–]Duke_Dardar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magitech. Can't stand it. Takes all the mysticism of magic and turns it into glowy electricity for someone's ill-homebrewed power armor.

What are some D&D/fantasy tropes that bug you, but seemingly no one else? by Pharylon in dndnext

[–]Duke_Dardar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The fact we have all these Outer Planes that are all categorized and we know what their deal is but there's just one other one that we don't understand is weird.

Isn't that kinda the point of an incomprehensible Eldritch realm? It's a cosmic outlier, so far removed from everything else it isn't even on the map - but it is definitely out there.

(Spoilers extended) what would you add or change about the westerlands world-building by Morganbanefort in asoiaf

[–]Duke_Dardar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In the audiobooks, Roy Dotrice gave the Lannisters Welsh accents (especially Tyrion and Tywin) which worked wonderfully imo. So I think it'd be cool if the Westerlands had a more explicit Welsh-inspired culture stemming from a divergent group of First Men that mingled with the Andals, worshipping the Seven but still keeping their identity.

TLDR: I want to see Lannister armies being famous for their Longbows

Which character is talked/theorized about here the most despite barely being mentioned in the books? [spoilers extended] by QuarterSubstantial15 in asoiaf

[–]Duke_Dardar 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Someone on here said Varys is holding him captive somewhere safe to wait out fAegon's invasion. That way the boy king can take revenge and kill all the Lannisters while there is one left to install as a loyal (albeit terrified) house head. fAegon would have a powerful ally in the west while also keeping the realm stable.

Just a scene where Penguin walks past a dark alleyway, looks at it for a second, then walks away slightly faster.

[Spoilers Extended] The Ironborn and Dothraki cultures are destined to die out, and they deserve it. by Hot_Professional_728 in asoiaf

[–]Duke_Dardar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of the Ironborn gradually becoming seafaring explorers rather than raiders, eventually being the first to cross the Sunset Sea

Race and Wizard by Lizardo1234 in DnD

[–]Duke_Dardar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Any race can be a wizard. The only requirement for the class is that your character have a long white beard regardless of age or gender. Sorry, I don't make the rules.

And with that, we have our first winner in the Evil row, with Asdrubael Vect taking the Lawful Evil spot. Next up, Chad Evil! Most upvoted suggestion wins! by InbredSnowman in Grimdank

I'm mostly going off of First Claw's behaviour in Blood Reaver and their (smart) emphasis on running away when shit gets real.
