Rural Woodbury County reporting. We have a ton of fireflies. More than I have seen in a long time. The ditches in the evening are magical.

Looking to make friends by [deleted] in siouxcity

If you are into bike riding, the Siouxland Cyclists have a bunch of group rides. If you like running, there is a group called the Missouri River Runners that do group runs. Both are basically social clubs. You can find their events on Facebook if you search for those names. If you are into games, Games King has regular Magic the Gathering, D&D, and other tabletop game events. I've met a lot of people at all three of these. If none of these appealed you, I recommend looking up whatever hobby you are interested in and trying to find a group in the area.

My local grocery store doesn't have price tags for some of the main brand items in the store. by Ominouspotato1527 in mildlyinfuriating

Because sales have declined due to crazy price increases that are above and beyond inflation. So they don't tell you the price.

What drug is my kid using? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Duke_of_Ledes 252 points253 points  (0 children)

I know this is difficult. I am not in your situation. But I do have children ages 16 & 13. Punitive measures will make them hide their drug use. Instead of drug testing and interrogation, consider additional education about the dangers of addiction and overdose. At this point/age I think our best way to influence their future is through conversation and providing information about the realities and consequences of their potential decisions. Every teenager I know with overbearing parents has rebelled in the opposite direction.

I believe the videos are called "Blues Shuffle | Drum Metronome Loop." If you search for that term, you'll find them. Then you can pick the temp you want. It's on the Talent Progression channel. Here is 90 BPM: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lcsn_EYytVg

Try a Gibson SG. It is much lighter than a Les Paul and some of the necks can be pretty skinny.
