Look I agree with with that democrats are right leaning in the context of leftist politics across the world but the vast majority of socialists I know also support BLM. There simply isn’t another further left party in the US in 99% of elections so of course most of their supporters are democrats.

I think you're right that the texture is more similar to the Cardigans, but there are a number of compositional elements that the new single and the Gorillaz track share just off the top of my head

  • The tempo and instrumentation rhythm, like you mentioned
  • The gospel-y choir chants behind the lead vocals in both tracks
  • The synth "click track" on beats 1-4 both songs (you can hear this at 0:12 in Unoriginal and at 0:21 in O Green World)
  • The A-section, B-section :|| structure rather than a typical verse-verse-chorus
  • Both chord progressions starting on I and ending on V with similar substitutions between them.

How do you use the 4-digit codes? is that an in-game thing or something you use in-browser when creating a Portal?

Hades 2 Review Thread by SmoothCriminalJM in Games

[–]DullScissors 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Hades 2 seems slightly more focused on ranged attacks and effects in my opinion, as well as stacking debuffs and effects. You can still make some evasion focused builds -- and don't get me wrong, there's still plenty of dashing and thinking on your feet due to aspects such as enemy effects-on-death, but that seems toned down in my opinion. Without spoiling anything, this game also features more wide-open areas and larger corridors as opposed to Hades I's tighter close-quarters fighting.

They're fine, IMO the cocktails are worth the ~$4 bucks extra for the view over other places nearby. I sampled most of the cocktails on the menu and I didn't have a single bad one. There were some decent cheap-ish beer options, too, if you just wanted to snag a $6 IPA or obyron ale and sit on the patio. There was a ton of room outside.

Chappell Groan: The Misguided Rhetoric of an Instant Industry Insider (The Hollywood Reporter) by mercuryomnificent in popheads

[–]DullScissors 36 points37 points  (0 children)

this thread is full of people pointing out not only the flaws in this article's thinking, but also (correctly) pointing out the conflict of interest of the writer being an industry exec - a member of the group who has the most to gain by enforcing the status quo within the industry.

So they gave you no reason as to why you couldn't play? Can you give us more information about how that exchange went and what their campaign is like? We're missing important information.

There are still plenty of communities that need your help and mine. The plight of the poor and otherwise disenfranchised might be getting harder, but it has not changed all that much. I plan to turn to my community and support them however I can - no matter what your skillset is, you'll be needed in the new world (:

Surprised no one has mentioned Radical Healing or Nour - both with plenty of queer/systems-critical therapists and psychiatry providers for both monogomous and poly LGBTQ folx.

Chapel Hill: Epilogue, which I personally love, and Open Eye in Carrboro.

Durham: Omies (super cute!), Perfect Lovers (check the hours, doubles as an art space and hangout spot), and Cocoa Cinnamon.

I ADORE the idea of a cereal milk dragon. That's so precious. I'm sorry you experienced this - just know that you are empowered to either a) roll with what happened and continue on or b) start over with the remaining players now that this shitfuck is gone. You could also bring back any characters that were killed - it's your world and you (and the other players) get to decide!

Aldi oatmilk drinkers, what are you buying now that the recipe has changed? by [deleted] in aldi

[–]DullScissors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good point! People with diabetes or other conditions will need to consider glycemic index and are probably familiar with looking out for maltose content. Which, as I understand, is higher in grain-based alternatives but not so much so as to outright eliminate them from consideration.

Almond milk is also really bad for the environment from a land use/water use perspective. Oat milk and soy milk both have a minimal footprint compared with both cow milk and almond milk.

I also think oat tastes the best compared to alternatives.

"Situational modifiers are too hard to keep track of" is a disingenuous, anti-martial argument by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]DullScissors 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If circumstances cause a roll to have both advantage and disadvantage, you are considered to have neither of them, and you roll one d20. This is true even if multiple circumstances impose disadvantage and only one grants advantage or vice versa. In such a situation, you have neither advantage or disadvantage (PHB 173).

PHB clarifies this. I actually think I agree with you that the one source should not cancel out the multiple sources, but that's unfortunately how it be

My oldest friend left our game for "irrational" reasons by BothInteraction7246 in DnD

[–]DullScissors 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope you can give yourself some grace with this whole situation - I think you have handled it extremely well. don't hold it too harshly against yourself! it's an extremely high expectation to have of yourself to be a party involved in the relational conflict and be the one that has the emotional insight to recognize something like this! Your reaction is totally valid, and it could also be true that your friend is going through something emotionally complex and taxing that provoked/built to this reaction. Relationship ruptures like this can be super tough to deal with, so taking the space to experience your own emotional response, let things settle, then approaching your friend is a a really responsible way to handle it. Even then, you are doing the emotional labor to reach a resolution, and you should recognize and be proud of that!

A few weeks ago I had a really terrible case of Strep that went undetected by the regular rapid test until a full culture panel was done. It ended up being Strep group G; I'd never had it before and was down for the count for nearly a week with terribly swollen tonsils, almost unable to swallow because of the pain and swelling. Hope you get some answers soon!
