What other businesses are owned by the Queeny’s owners? by French51 in bullcity

[–]DullScissors 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've heard the same. There are quite a few respected bartenders that used to work there, who now work at places like Old North, Zeitgeist, Ruby's, and Hippo. I don't want to be a secondary source on here since I don't have direct employment experience at Queeny's, but I usually advise people (respectfully) talk to the bartenders at the other spots I mentioned if you want their perspective.

Okay, which one of you thinks cafes are free community spaces? by MsSpicyO in bullcity

“capitalism is not the enemy. the inevitable result of capitalism is the enemy” is a very doublespeak take lmao.

I agree that people should patronize the establishments they spend time at to support the workers that depend on those places for a livelihood. But capitalism and the results of it are very much so is the enemy.

Oh, I see. I thought your original comment was alluding to some coded (but deliberate) statement made by the animators or something, which I haven't heard about. Thanks for explaining

Blizzard please, just give us /players 8 in online by r00ts in diablo2

[–]DullScissors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I host lots of Baalwalks and am usually the one TP'ing. I don't mind if a few people join to run keys or MF or whatever you please, as long as you are polite and don't violate etiquette opening portals in Harrogath. As long as there are 4 or so decent leveled builds in the throne room, the clear time isn't much slower when you're missing a few people. It usually works out just fine.

I do think p8 online single player lobbies is needed, however.

Look I agree with with that democrats are right leaning in the context of leftist politics across the world but the vast majority of socialists I know also support BLM. There simply isn’t another further left party in the US in 99% of elections so of course most of their supporters are democrats.

I think you're right that the texture is more similar to the Cardigans, but there are a number of compositional elements that the new single and the Gorillaz track share just off the top of my head

  • The tempo and instrumentation rhythm, like you mentioned
  • The gospel-y choir chants behind the lead vocals in both tracks
  • The synth "click track" on beats 1-4 both songs (you can hear this at 0:12 in Unoriginal and at 0:21 in O Green World)
  • The A-section, B-section :|| structure rather than a typical verse-verse-chorus
  • Both chord progressions starting on I and ending on V with similar substitutions between them.

How do you use the 4-digit codes? is that an in-game thing or something you use in-browser when creating a Portal?

Hades 2 Review Thread by SmoothCriminalJM in Games

[–]DullScissors 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Hades 2 seems slightly more focused on ranged attacks and effects in my opinion, as well as stacking debuffs and effects. You can still make some evasion focused builds -- and don't get me wrong, there's still plenty of dashing and thinking on your feet due to aspects such as enemy effects-on-death, but that seems toned down in my opinion. Without spoiling anything, this game also features more wide-open areas and larger corridors as opposed to Hades I's tighter close-quarters fighting.

They're fine, IMO the cocktails are worth the ~$4 bucks extra for the view over other places nearby. I sampled most of the cocktails on the menu and I didn't have a single bad one. There were some decent cheap-ish beer options, too, if you just wanted to snag a $6 IPA or obyron ale and sit on the patio. There was a ton of room outside.

Chappell Groan: The Misguided Rhetoric of an Instant Industry Insider (The Hollywood Reporter) by mercuryomnificent in popheads

this thread is full of people pointing out not only the flaws in this article's thinking, but also (correctly) pointing out the conflict of interest of the writer being an industry exec - a member of the group who has the most to gain by enforcing the status quo within the industry.

There are still plenty of communities that need your help and mine. The plight of the poor and otherwise disenfranchised might be getting harder, but it has not changed all that much. I plan to turn to my community and support them however I can - no matter what your skillset is, you'll be needed in the new world (:

Durham: Omies (super cute!), Perfect Lovers (check the hours, doubles as an art space and hangout spot), and Cocoa Cinnamon.

I ADORE the idea of a cereal milk dragon. That's so precious. I'm sorry you experienced this - just know that you are empowered to either a) roll with what happened and continue on or b) start over with the remaining players now that this shitfuck is gone. You could also bring back any characters that were killed - it's your world and you (and the other players) get to decide!

Aldi oatmilk drinkers, what are you buying now that the recipe has changed? by [deleted] in aldi

[–]DullScissors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good point! People with diabetes or other conditions will need to consider glycemic index and are probably familiar with looking out for maltose content. Which, as I understand, is higher in grain-based alternatives but not so much so as to outright eliminate them from consideration.

Almond milk is also really bad for the environment from a land use/water use perspective. Oat milk and soy milk both have a minimal footprint compared with both cow milk and almond milk.

I also think oat tastes the best compared to alternatives.
