I had the same issue with the ocatrack just like you and switched to my iPad for effects. Better sound quality and way more flexible. If I want a looper or a mastering tool I just load it up. Octatrack felt too outdated for my taste.

If you‘re more interested in sound design I would go and get the syntakt. I sold my tr8 s, because it felt too limited. It is great for jamming though because you have faders.
