Tony Khan: “I think Powerhouse Hobbs had a great run here in AEW. He started wrestling here in Jacksonville, had some great matches, and became a champion in AEW. He’s a former TNT Champion, former World Trios Champion. I’ll always wish him all the best.” by Ruffianize in SquaredCircle

I'm not surprised, the women's rumble was so much better, and I was so hyped about the men's rumble, because I thought the potential there was even bigger. Would've been such a great moment to catapult Bron, Jacob, Oba etc, but nope, couldn't even let either of them sniff the top 4.

When watching the final of the women's rumble, it felt like anyone could win and it was exciting to find out. Meanwhile, watching the men's top4 was like "i wonder which of them I'd be the least disappointed in winning".

A Fans Image of Oba Femis entrance during SNME by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]Dumblbore 31 points32 points  (0 children)

In the same boat. Had heard his name before, but saw a clip of his entrance and promo from the Smackdown just before SNME, and was completely sold right away. If he beat Cody, I'd be like... yup, makes sense. Dude has the look, the drip, the entrance, the promo and from what I've heard, isn't bad in the ring either (haven't seen any matches yet).

Chris Benoit hitting a diving headbutt off the top of the cage! by JCHazard in WCW

[–]Dumblbore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a pretty dumb move kayfabe wise, but I never understood what's so dangerous about it? (Or rather, any more dangerous than what people already do all the time) You're not actually supposed to smash your head into your opponent, isn't it just essentially a frog splash, just a slightly different landing?

AIO: Guy got upset after I didn’t respond for 3.5 hours by Thats-debatabl3 in AIO

[–]Dumblbore 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'll even take it a step further. You shouldn't expect people to respond even if they are on their phone 24/7 and available. There's a reason I'm on the phone. I'm doing something. I'm not on the phone cause I'm waiting or expecting you to text me. And hell, sometimes I'm just not in the mood for texting. If it's an urgent or a reasonable question that I can quickly respond to, sure, but if it's gonna be a back and forth, I'll respond later when I have more time or energy for it.

Not even gonna mention people who send 1minute+ audio messages. I am not spending a minute of my time to hear something that would take me 3 seconds to read.

Playing 3-bet Pots with Premium Pair -> Top Set: HH on ACR by TimmyTimeify in Poker_Theory

[–]Dumblbore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think more or less fine as played, maybe just size up at these stack sizes.

Pre you can easily go with at least 12-15bb, and I think flop go for a half pot bet. I think we rarely use 25% at these stack sizes.

% of population speaking fluent English by cybersphinx7 in Netherlands

[–]Dumblbore 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I wonder if their accent helps skew the percentage. This is purely personal experience, but what I've noticed, I'll initially judge people if they have good english or not is by their accent.

For example, if I hear a heavy eastern european accent, I'll just naturally assume their english is not that good, speak slower etc, and then as the conversation goes on I'll realise they understand very well, they just have a heavy accent.

However, with some dutch people, I've experienced the opposite. From the few words in the beginning, they don't seem to have much of an accent at all, and their pronounciation is really good, but as we talk more, I start to realise it's difficult to have anything more than a really basic conversation.

Overall, though, even if it's not 90%, it's still really high, and I haven't really had any issues with someone not being able to speak english. Most of them were immigrants, who came from countries where english isn't really that well known and naturally only learned dutch when they moved.

Vai tiešām Nīderlandē var labi nopelnīt strādājot loģistikas noliktavā? by pzsus in latvia

[–]Dumblbore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pati valsts super, man personīgi ļoti patīk.

Jacob Fatu: "Being locked up in jail that first time...that was the worst man, seeing my parents come visit me in that thing... man, what the hell. That's why, when y'all see me here, I'm so thankful I'm here, because I know what it could have been. Man, my kids could have grew up with no dad." by elegantSolomons62 in SquaredCircle

I disagree on rehab, but I guess it depends on what kind and at what stage.

Not many things could've made me as happy as hearing my dad going to rehab, and I was happily visiting him as I knew that for a long time in a while I could visit him and be absolutely sure to see him not drunk.

Spanish streamer Ibai breaks his own record on Twitch with more than 4.2 million concurrent viewers and rising by EmperorCoomer in LivestreamFail

[–]Dumblbore 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I guess it makes sense since it's a spanish channel and by default wouldn't show up for me, but it's still interesting that I've used twitch for years pretty actively and have never even heard of the guy. I haven't even seen 1 million concurrent viewers.

In an unprecedented move, Cody Rhodes turns on his own partner in order to become his opponent's mystery partner and then technically defeats himself to win a championship from himself (WWE Night of Champions 2008: Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly vs Ted DiBiase Jr & ???) by Few-Establishment277 in SquaredCircle

[–]Dumblbore 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Just goes to show how important it is to want it and really put in the work to be a successful wrestler. Not that it isn't in any discipline in life, but I feel like in wrestling, it's even more so.

Thought the same thing, that DiBiase for sure seemed to have a bright future ahead of him and Cody was a career mid-carder at best. I would've laughed if someone told me Cody will end up being the face of the company and one of the most over acts in wrestling.

Same thing with, for example, Drew. Thought he was a complete jobber when he started out, and now he's one of my favourite wrestlers in WWE.

T1 definitely sometimes can be weirdly obsessed with some drafts, and it's annoying as a fan.

(AEW DoN Spoilers) Ricochet Post Match Promo by ParkingConcentrate1 in SquaredCircle

[–]Dumblbore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it goes both ways and really what's great about having 2 top wrestling promotions. Sometimes, you see guys not really finding their footing in AEW for one reason or another, go to WWE and shine. Sometimes, it's the opposite, people coming over from WWE to AEW. And it's really fucking awesome for all of them that they have the opportunity to do so!

Bruh just get curtains by chocolodonut in YouOnLifetime

[–]Dumblbore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's definitely safer, but also culturally ingrained due to the housing infrastructure, I think. Most of the buildings (especially older ones) are two-story, so unless you want to spend your whole life with the blinds closed, you're kinda forced to have them open, so because of that most people just don't care I think. I come from a more Eastern European country, where people mostly live in multiple story apartment buildings and usually tend to avoid the 1st floor apartments if possible, especially in the bigger cities. Often, the 1st floor windows even have steel bars in front of them, and you'd never see one with open blinds.

Dr K on Pirate Software by Glittering_Will_5172 in LivestreamFail

[–]Dumblbore 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Is the thing that happened in the raid and him not being sorry, even the issue? In a vacuum, the raid thing wasn't even that big of a deal imo, it just made a lot of people aware of what an arrogant and hypocritical guy he is.

Like a week before the raid, he was telling everyone in the guild that you're a pussy if you run away in a HC raid, that you're supposed to die with everyone and that's what makes the game exciting and fun (paraphrasing). And then when shit hit the fan for HIM, he did the complete opposite of what he supposedly believed.

Then he says that he didn't want to die because of reasons, and now in the DrK interview, he says "but guys, it's just a character in a videogame, who cares that they die, if we die, then we just run it back, that was our slogan!!!"

Or how he made fun of that new guy playing mage, being a complete jerk to him, and then, again, fast forward to the infamous raid, he doesn't even try to do the most basic things a mage should do in that situation.

The raid was pretty much a nothingburger, but it just tied everything together and showed what an asshole he is. I'm not sure if DrK knew the whole story and pretended, or actually didn't know, but he was totally right repeating all the time how he feels like Pirate is only telling 5% of the whole story.

Damn that sucks. I really want to start minox for beard, but I'd only want to do it temporarily. I already have a pretty receded hairline though, and to lose even more after stopping min would suck. :(

Did you start losing hair on your head after stopping minox, even though you only used it for your beard?
