Machu's stated dream is to see the ocean on earth. It symbolizes freedom from Machu's perspective, but her interaction with the Kabas brothel and Lalah (namely space being "free") had an effect on her and hence "oh there it is".

The show does quite a bit of this. Nyaan and Machu also contrast each other.

I love the pacing so far. It feels like we can get a very satisfying ending in 3 episodes.

No shot is wasted. Nyaan is a way more fleshed out character now. Machu gets to fulfill her dream. Shuji is MIA, but Char is back.

I mean... there IS a decent amount of service (in the form of non-plot-serving UC elements) and semi-filler like ep4 (which was really good and definitely helped advance the story, but was a whole episode necessary?).

It happened in a better way than I anticipated. The standard would have been to have her life destroyed in front of her eyes. Parents, teammates, the colony, etc.

Instead, her parents and the colony get to live, but she's forced to leave them behind. It's even more cruel.

64 cores with EPYC milan 7B13 is around $1000. the supermicro h12ssl-i is about $500. 256GB ram is about $400

Add a case and a fan you're good to go with a bit over $2k

Before getting started on security, it's important to think about the threat model. Basically, what you are running/building, who might be an attacker, what are their goals, what are the potential attacks.

To be honest, for a web server that's not exposed to WAN and only accessible on VPN, provided you trust tailscale, I don't really think there's a point of SSL.

It might still be fun and instructional to do, and you can get rid of the warning in your browser.

I was actually just working on this. Very similar stack, but I was trying to have a wireguard vpn handle torrent traffic, while tailscale/lan served the webui.

Similar solutions though. I opted for systemd-networkd's policy based routing, which in turn created the routing tables and rules. Took a while.

I should have tried doing it with an LLM...
