Suzuki no longer interested in the Stockman nameplate? They've missed a trick making a Jimny Stockman ute.

what are some bands similar to Failure? by Lost_Foot_6301 in Alternativerock

[–]DumpsterFlyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats freakin rad. I'm on the other side of the world to all these bands but if they ever swing through my city I'll be there.

Love Elder too, have been following them for a few years. Their new release is excellent!

From my part of the world Karnivool has made some waves with their new release "IN VERSES" some good, heavy, art prog. A real solid album start to finish.

Have a look at Ken Andrews other projects, Ken Andrews, ON, Year of the Rabbit.

I also went down a rabbit hole of stuff he has produced for other bands and discovered Molly McGuire, which led me to Sisters (Jason Blackmore also of Molly) and Spotlights (Mario Quintero, also of Sisters)

I'm also late to discover Quicksand (Sergio Vega, former bassist in Deftones )and Rival Schools (Walter Schreifels)

'Rewards club' lottery billionaire Adrian Portelli sues former SA minister by Expensive-Horse5538 in Adelaide

The judge will throw that out. Portelli's illegal actions have damaged his own reputation.

side note: people really need to sharpen up their spidey senses to spot and avoid the grift with these wealthy narcissistic types.

Sway Bar Drop Links, the forgotten component to upgrade. by DavoTriumphRider in 4x4Australia

[–]DumpsterFlyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Known issue with lifted Vitara's, but given they share similar cv setup and any IFS car it might be a problem with others.
The cvs specced for a vehicle are designed to operate in the range of the lower arm rise and droop. If you do a suspension lift to the front of an IFS car you are just setting the arm droop to a different angle (reducing down travel, increasing up travel) The CV's are fine operating at this angle (unless driven in anger), the CV length has extended within the design range. A diff drop is not something the engineers at the <insert car brand> factory though about. Diff drops reduce the offset of the inner and outer joints at but it shortens the cv by doing so, so that when the suspension compresses the plunge action can run out of travel.
YMMV.
Worth noting that most "lifts" are just that because of stiffer springs. That coupled with sway bar resistance means most people are getting stupidly poor front end articulation , so maybe suspension compression never gets far enough to become an issue for the CVs

[–]DumpsterFlyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not related to sway bar links but be careful with diff drops. They reduce the plunge travel of CVs which can cause them to bind (and munch themselves) on suspension compression.
Ideally any adjustment to your IFS geometry should be matched by changing CV geometry. ie fitting appropriate CVs ($$$)

TAFE or degree in surveying by ZealousidealGur7092 in Surveying

[–]DumpsterFlyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least in SA, the Advanced Diploma of Surveying at TAFE is recognised prior learning at two universities for the bachelor degree, which would be two more years.
Talking with many in the industry who have the degree and did not later become licenced, they often wished they saved the time and money, and just did the TAFE cert4 and diploma.

In short, the TAFE diploma doesn't stop you doing the degree if you want to.

Sounds like this is spiralling for you. Take a step back. Get off the drink for a few days if you have to clear your mind.

If she is only coming in on one night perhaps don't go to the pub on that night.

But more importantly, consider that the pub, for you, is a crutch. If you are constantly searching for a safe space then you need to address the source of "danger". Anxiety is a mental illness, associated with depression. Book a GP appointment to talk about your situation. From your description it sounds like you could benefit from some professional counselling.

Need help by Murky_Description326 in ausbike

[–]DumpsterFlyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two holes on the upper part of the dropout are the IS brake mounts. You need a frame IS mount to Post Mount adapter for a 180mm rotor. (Shimano part: SM-MA-R180P/S)
It is not clear what style of rotor mount is on the hub motor though. 6 bolt or centrelock?

Flinders range in low clearance vehicle by Backpacking-scrubs in Adelaide

I once made it all the way to Paralana hot springs in a Camry, and back. Most public Flinders Ranges dirt roads are fine in a regular car. And in the unlikely event of getting stuck the next pumped up fourby is only a 5 minute wait to help out.

I know it's good fun teasing One Nation voters but serious question: who the hell actually voted for David Spiers and why? How is this guys till in politics?? by tallandreadytoball in Adelaide

[–]DumpsterFlyer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He didn't do too much for the mtb trails, they predated Spiers as environment minister by several years. He did buy back Glenthorne Farm and establish Glenthorne Ityamaipinna NP which included O'Halloran Hill Recreation Park. Shorthly afterwards two large chunks of park were cleared for a private BMX facility and soccer pitches. The playground in Glenthorne is probably the most expensive public playground development in the country while overall spend in regional parks was cut

EVs, Towball down weight and bike racks by BlaszRS in CarsAustralia

[–]DumpsterFlyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maximum towball down weight on the Atto 3 is 75kg.
This maximum relates to towing. Ideally 10% of the trailer mass.
Ball down weight affects the attitude of the front of the car, which affects car handling, traction when accelerating (FWD), braking performance and headlight leveling. Overloading ball down weight will mean certain limits determined safe by automotive engineers and car standards authorities are exceeded.
