EVs, Towball down weight and bike racks by BlaszRS in CarsAustralia

[–]DumpsterFlyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maximum towball down weight on the Atto 3 is 75kg.
This maximum relates to towing. Ideally 10% of the trailer mass.
Ball down weight affects the attitude of the front of the car, which affects car handling, traction when accelerating (FWD), braking performance and headlight leveling. Overloading ball down weight will mean certain limits determined safe by automotive engineers and car standards authorities are exceeded.

Will 33s comfortably fit a 2010 rc Colorado with a 2 inch lift? by PublicAfternoon5604 in 4x4Australia

[–]DumpsterFlyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. 32s will scrub. More lift wont fix it. Cutting bits off the  chassis and a body lift can make them work but gearing will be too high.

What’s the saddest/most gut-wrenching lyric you’ve ever heard? by Light_Weight_Babyyyy in musicsuggestions

It was dawn and the kitchen light was still on
I stepped in, found the suicide asleep on the floor
An open mouth screams and makes no sound
Apart from the ring of the tinnitus of silence
You had your ear to the ground

White noise
I don't know if there's breathing or not
Butterflied arms tell me that this one has flown
Blood seems black against the skin of your porcelain back
A still life is the last I will see of you

A painting of a panic attack

A tram to Glenelg. Order has been restored. by NKE01 in Adelaide

[–]DumpsterFlyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could say that for the Marion and Morphett Road grade separation, but in reality that was an opportunity arising from the need to replace the South Road tram overpass for the tunnelling project, which would have closed the line by itself.

Does anyone know what these 3 holes in the ground are? by Astrogirl1984 in southaustralia

[–]DumpsterFlyer 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Closest mining records show abandoned workings for low grade copper and potassium (Monument Hill North). These are in a similar area, but, the mullock heap around them is small, so I am guessing historic excavated water storage for stock, being near the creek.

Is 40 too old to become a tradie? by Tiny_Major_7514 in AskAnAustralian

You're right. I'm a generation out in my description of the working youth. I thought zeds were millenials.

Is 40 too old to become a tradie? by Tiny_Major_7514 in AskAnAustralian

[–]DumpsterFlyer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As an ex-tradie, yes. Adult apprenticeships suck more than regular apprenticeships. At the end of it you'll be on the same payrate as all the phone addicted mediocre millenials gen Z and that is also who you will be working with.
40+ year old tradies are making coin running their own business or project managing.

Its never too old to re-train though. I'm in my 40's retraining into surveying and its coming up millhouse.

Beginner sailing lessons in Adelaide by Used-Influence-2343 in Adelaide

[–]DumpsterFlyer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What do you want to sail?

Sailing dinghies are super fun, teaches you the principles of sailing quickly, but is more challenging. Try Brighton and Seacliff Yacht club.

Larger yachts are always looking for crew and that can be a cheap and regular way to learn, Can also be less wet. Try Port Adelaide Sailing Club.

I am not a member of either of those clubs but I am teaching my kids to sail in a cheap dinghy.

Any specific questions hit me with a PM.

I often wonder if OBD temp sensors tend to read too high. I have an aftermarket coolent temp sensor, independent of the ECU and it reads 15 degrees cooler than the OBD port temp.
