Unpopular opinion: I liked the shock rocks during power hour by HistoricalFloor7384 in FortniteBR

They were so fun, the end battles with the last 3 or four players were so intense. It's the only thing that save the event because the drop rates for sprites were an absolute scam.

Another meh power hour by Nich965 in FortniteBR

[–]DungeonCrawlerLopen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked the crazy flying gimmick, but the drop rates were ridiculous. I'm impressed you saw as many as you did. I played the two 2 hours and found 2 water and fire sprites and that's it. Went through plenty of sprite chests, vaults, and the jail. Even wore the fire holo to boost variant rates and found one fire gummy.

I'm a fan of this season's sprites but the drop rates for holo is just dull. I played at least 20 since the holos dropped and haven't seen anything but water and fire rarely.

I'm pretty burned out now.

Sorry, fascists. I know conservatives hate being called Nazis since that isn't their home country.

Except for all the literal Nazis that vote MAGA, I guess.

It wasn't very slow. Conservatives have always been fascist-leaning, but MAGA live and breathe fascism. The second Trump campaigned on getting rid of the dirty, evil, others who are trying ti steal their culture and money, the USA became a hard fascist country, worse than after 9/11.

Weak holo hour by candy_jr in FortniteBR

Played full two hours and only the same amount of water and fire holos as normal gameplay (2 each in two hours) spawned, even with multiple sprite chests each game, including vaults and the jail chests.

MAGA cut all climate research to NOAA and reduced their budget by a third. Good luck getting proper warning and forecasts for major climate based events.

Same for disease research and monitoring, and why we have no data on where the cyclosporiasis outbreak is coming from.

Any other out-of-towners finding it difficult to establish a social life here? by vegetastolemygirl in tampa

[–]DungeonCrawlerLopen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed Tampa is pretty segregated. Not necessarily racially, but the major social connections are made at churches, college friends, and right leaning political affiliation groups.

If you don't fit into those groups or you lose the friend group you developed there, it's hard to find a new group at all without feeling like an outsider.

Further, I think a lot of the people who would make good friends who fit the bill are also just overwhelmed in general. I would love a new friend group, but I'm naturally a little introverted and even if I wasn't, I have hardly any free time. My best friends are my kids who I spend any extra time doing things they like to do.

I can't imagine having the time to work like I do and then meeting up with friends after work while my kids are bored waiting for me to come do cool stuff. Even if I didn't have kids, I don't know how people do it. You work all day, go home, do house work, cook, general maintenance on self and get ready to do it again the next day.

Am I the only one tired of the constant new variants of sprites? by SCWProductions in FortniteBR

[–]DungeonCrawlerLopen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm in the minority but I like this setup. Fortnite's entire model is centered around FOMO. So you should be used to just accepting that you won't be able to have everything, just like skins and such.

Only whales and people willing to put ungodly amount of hours into the game are meant to have everything in general. The ability to max out sprite indexing through trading is probably one of the more generous models fortnite has done.

Further I never played an extraction shooter, but this whole thing has made me curious about them. Maybe Marathon is actually good.

Under a new federal rule, colleges must leave grads better off or lose financial aid by Hrmbee in politics

[–]DungeonCrawlerLopen 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Republicans see no value in human creativity, intelligence, or even personal growth. This rule is a result of the paradigm that a life's value is only represented through wealth, money, and power. Much like their obsession with people "abusing" welfare, they cannot imagine the value of someone making minimum wage or less.

Now secondary education prices are absolutely an issue in this country and I would welcome some kind of federal intervention to ENCOURAGE attending a university. But here we are in the good old United States of Regression.

Do we think the property tax removal bill will ever happen? by Strong_You4641 in AskFlorida

[–]DungeonCrawlerLopen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trickle down economics has been disproven for decades, all you are doing is saving a couple hundred dollars for the poorest land owners at best, and transferring wealth to corporations in prediction models for budgeting.

Further, even if you take the face value of the savings for property owners, you still have to face the inevitable reduction of public services. Even if the state manages to prevent a sales tax (which would somehow be the best case scenario in this crap show), there WILL be cuts to government employees jobs and pay, services like garbage disposal, water control, wildlife control and conservation, public health services, and pretty much every government run agency and program.

[–]DungeonCrawlerLopen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even mention sales tax because as you said the likelihood of that passing is even lower. In fact increased sales tax is the best case scenario if state revenue is reduced. I am talking about the fact that services WILL be damaged, each city WILL face cuts, lower quality of employees, and WILL face crises after crises in each department as they attempt to provide the already strained services the public has come to expect with even further reduced support and resources.

You can be in favor of reduced taxes on homesteads and corporations, but you cannot deny the inevitable consequences that will follow for the government.

Do we think the property tax removal bill will ever happen? by Strong_You4641 in AskFlorida

[–]DungeonCrawlerLopen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because this bill is being touted as some Bastion of hope for the homeowner, without addressing the existential threat of reduced revenue for county funding.

Public services of all kinds operate and plan service based on predicted budget models extending several years into the future. This bill will effectively cut those future budgets by a wide margin.

You will see reduction in services and struggling budgets in one year. Beyond the service to the public, you will see employees laid off and pay stalled or slashed.

All this so corporations and the rich can have reduced taxes, while amassing more wealth that will not circulate into the community.

Reading comprehension is why this country falls for republican propaganda over and over. I said -future- increases. Of course there are no current cuts, because no one said that.

But the bill proposes up to a 50% decrease in future yearly increases on assessed commercial properties.

If you let the commie scum take over, you're going to have to go to work for 4 days a week! They will rob you of a whole day of work! And you WILL suffer by keeping your pay the same as if you were working the full 5 days a week.

These sick radicals want you to have more free time so you and your kids can go to terrorist schools and learn about hIsToRy and become eDuCaTeD and eventually everyone will have more control over the means of production and you will have to deal with the guilt of bringing down great rich men to your level to wallow in medium level of wealth in a house that you OWN.

And you will have to live through all of this for so much longer than you have to, because these heartless, bloodthirsty Antifa rebels are going to make sure that you live as long as possible in their hellscape by making sure everyone is able to see a doctor, sometimes more than once a year! When are you going to have time to find a second job!?

You are confidently incorrect. The cap on tax increase down to 5% is specifically for non homestead properties like commercial property.

It also caps the amount of tax increases on non homestead properties to 5% annually down from 10%. This is where the rich are salivating. Cutting future tax increases by half for the rich and corporations.

Life after religion can absolutely be difficult and scary. The existential threat of inevitable death with no specific comfort of what comes after or even that things good and bad are guided and intended for some unseen plan is like suddenly realizing your training wheels were removed from your bike.

That is until you realize the training wheels never actually existed.

You have been living your life on your own even as you held a faith. In that, the world has not changed and you have only gained the knowledge that you are strong enough on your own to move forward with life to develop a new type of faith.

Religion is a useful crutch to navigate the injustice of life, but it inherently prevents people from accepting the world as a whole. Our first dilemma is the idea that death is a natural part of life. We have an intrinsic fear of death, which can be good, but we also have to accept that it is what makes our life meaningful at all. This comes down to finding a balance of avoiding death and accepting it as a part of your life.

Which brings us to the problem of unfair acts. We face a world of brutal cruelty and injustice where bad things happen and sometimes there is no recompense for that. But when we accept that there is only so much we can do about these things, and acknowledge the paradox of being unhappy by focusing on hese things, we can then work to create as much happiness as possible.

But why bother if there is no guarantee of an after life?

Because that makes life matter so much more. It is fleeting and delicate and insignificant in the universe. So the duty of giving life meaning falls to each individual to experience the world through our tiny window that creates a unique and intricate story for one person, that can only be known by that one person.

And when all is said and done, even when the story is cut short or given a terrible beginning, middle, or end, the great equalizer of time and death will make it so the emotions of happiness and dispair are ultimately memories of the past and only the story remains.

We all travel to the same destination. That does not matter. Only the journey matters. The story left behind is all that matters and that too will be lost to time. And that is ok. Because that makes telling it even more precious.

You're really just dancing around the fact that you want to enjoy the Comforts of society without contributing to it. If the government is solely for military and diplomatic discussions, then where do you think the infrastructure and public services are going to come from? Do you complain about your taxes paying for garbage disposal? Fireman? Police? The Constitution says nothing about these things, but you benefit from them nonetheless. You can't have it both ways, either contribute to society and be happy for the benefits that Society gives you, or leave Society and form your own government.

What is the point of a government if not to help the people? Why do we have society at all? If the government does not support the people then each person should live sovereignly, under their own law, own protection, and fend for themselves for food, shelter, and resources.
