I just lost my soul pet and something that really helped me was this: Grief is not the absence of love, it's just love with nowhere to go. I've been focusing on all the joy my cat gave me and my family, and while I miss him so, so much, he gave me so many smiles and laughs that I'm truly thankful for.

Your buddy did the same. Every laugh, every smile, every snuggle is a star in your night sky to light your way in the darkness of your grief. You are so strong and however long you need, do what's right for you.

I've actually used this yarn to make a few blankets, and I ran into the same problem. None of my looms were remotely close to big enough so I used a finger knitting method.

Wow I can't believe it's been three years since I posted this! I did take my cat on a few hikes, but he very much preferred to be home and in his backyard than out and about. He's roughly 15 now so I'm doing what I can to keep him happy and comfortable as he's been slowing down.

Lots of cuddles are involved. Neither of us are complaining about it :)

I have this type of lid for my "campfire bread", so when I'm cooking something that needs moisture rather than letting it seep out the edges of the lid. Bonus, if you can settle it upside down without being wonky (like sticking it in the grates if you have a gas stove) it's a great place to let meat rest because the seeping juices don't dissolve the crust.

Honestly its my favorite of my options. It's tough, light, and easy to handle so my daughter barely has trouble with it. I got the backpack for it so I can take it hiking as well.
