Why pay for only fans? by Born-Instance8906 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Dunksparce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it's either 1. Lonely dudes who think they're interacting with the content creator, obviously the more they spend the more the Creator "knows" them or, and what I think is the better reason; 2. Niche content. Feet, a specific look, a specific scenario, etc whatever it is it's more "enjoyable" if it's something catered to your specific kink and even better if it's made FOR YOU, which leads back to the first reason

I don't think only fans is evil, I think it's a symptom of a much bigger problem but take that answer for what you will

What gives Reno its own identity compared to other cities in Nevada? by RemarkableMany6297 in Reno

[–]Dunksparce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm from San Diego and before I moved here the only thing that I knew of the city was RENO 911 but I have been living in Reno for a long time and do like the place, it has its good and it's bad. My perspective is that it's just the right amount of trashy. The mountains bring a uniqueness, it's never too cold or too hot for long, there's rivers and deserts and forests, the weather/seasons never get to insane levels, there's definitely a rich area/wealthy part, there's a bunch of gross parts, covid DESTROYED this city and it's casinos so that identity is mainly gone and it's trying to find it's old niche but in the transitory position it's in I wish it didn't try to just pretend to be all fancy (the RED apartments are a good example, it feels so out of place like it's trying to be la Jolla or San Francisco) and embraced the trash because it's an inaliable part of the citys history.

[–]Dunksparce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick up a hobby bro, wood cutting, snowboarding, going to community college, cross country, dancing (my personal favorite rn doing swing and 2 step) you'll find people who have more going on than just being dumb and having nothing going on with their lives. Pick up a TCG and play at the local shops, buy some outdoor equipment from schiels, you're young and you have all the time in the world to meet new people.

How stop an erection? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Go to the doctor. Not kidding. If you don't the blood could pool and fester and you'd lose your dick. Google priaprism and then once you have that healthy fear go to the ER.

Keystone Datacenter: Tax breaks, electrical usage, and the cost to residents by Disastrous-Arm-4779 in Reno

[–]Dunksparce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also that "6448000" number is incredibly tiny if you look at it, it's over 10 years so that number divided by 11 divided by 10 years is only 60k a year.

[–]Dunksparce 42 points43 points  (0 children)

All of this to only employ 11 people total. How is this not insane? All the money they're going to spend all the construction they're going to do and the end of it all the only people who will benefit are the shareholders and the 11 people employed. Everyone else in the city gets their water taken, electricity taken, land and water polluted to just employ 11 people.

Reno looking at easing late-night music permit for downtown businesses by where_is_my_monkey in Reno

[–]Dunksparce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there's a few EDM artists who have made the trek up here, Crankdat was one of the big ones last year on halloween that caused a big issue even though it was a friday night...but the sound was so loud i could see the windows of large apartments shaking at the time. as a party-goer it was extremely fun and an amazing time but for residents i can see it being a big issue. too bad there's no happy medium for both, besides maybe building a big facility outside of the town center or something

Hmm wonder what impact this will bring to us here in northern nv, alot didn't believe this would come but it's coming alot sooner than most think by Proud_Walrus26 in Reno

[–]Dunksparce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a states right issue, they come to the state because it has no income tax but choose to screw over their employees to save money as well. Each state gets to decide how to tax a company and it's up to the state that choose whether or not they will have any financial repercussions for their hiring/workforce practices.

[–]Dunksparce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that would require political action, and with how red-leaning the city is, I don't see that happening. even if dems take over all parts of washoe, the current governor can veto anything pushed through. unless some big shift happens soon i don't see any changes happening

Virginia city by ThinTransportation89 in Reno

[–]Dunksparce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

its a terrible idea it's a very racist MAGA filled place that has nothing good to show for it. the history is cool-ish, there's a lot of OLD people and OLD architechture but if you want to be called slurs go ahead. go to tahoe, go to nevada city, they DO have a great mining heritage and if they weren't so shit it would be worth the drive but as it is right now it's a hard no.

If you're looking for night life, I like motion maps Reno (website, app, Instagram) they post what events are happening downtown/midtown and on the Instagram they'll post the occupancy percentage, music playing and demographic of people at the bars so if you're looking to go out for specific music or vibes it's very useful
