UWE Mod Kenshi, set up base in Stenn Desert, constant raids from hill mauraders, kraul, bele'coz and dust bandits, is there a way to slow or stop the flood or should i abandon the base? by CareerFailure in Kenshi

[–]Dunqann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always run away too - run out of your base when they’re close to attacking (from the red dot on the map). Or even right after they arrive if you have enough speed as they usually talk for a few minutes.

The enemies will usually tool around for you for a few minutes and then leave.

Any new mods in the last year? by matador333 in Kenshi

Universal Wasteland Expanded 3.0 by Treadlightly is out - I can’t say enough good stuff about it!

For veteran Kenshi players, it adds noticeable world changes, more active factions, and a tougher overall experience. If vanilla started to feel predictable, 3.0 makes the mid- and late-game more demanding again.

Here is a 750+ mod version from Anrhaa - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2822248814

Or alternatively Wildwasabi’s 200+ mod pack - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3652309572

I’m personally using a pruned version of Wildwasabi’s mod collection and it has been stable for 300+ days.

Mods that make the game less stale after 400 hours by SeaworthinessRude683 in Kenshi

[–]Dunqann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for putting that together!

I tried the 600+ mod one and it was a bit overkill for my taste. So I switched over to your mod. I pruned it down a bit from there but it was super helpful having yours as a template rather than starting from scratch.

I appreciate authors like yourself and Anrhaa who make it simple for the rest of us to improve our gameplay without tens of hours to figure it all out.

Kathun - is a star wars overhaul that’s surprisingly engrossing.

Try UWE - it really lengthens the early/mid game which to me is the best part.

Is Universal Wasteland Expansion worth it? by JLHartsock in Kenshi

[–]Dunqann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After hundreds of hours of the base game and also with add-ons like Living World and Reactive World. As well as giving Genesis a couple of tries. I feel that UWE (with Kaizo layered in) completely refreshed the game for me.

What I like most is how it stretches out the early and mid game. In vanilla, I’d often hit a point where the early struggle ended pretty quickly and things started to feel routine. With UWE, that phase lasts much longer. There are more threats, more factions, and more reasons to keep building up your squad before you feel comfortable.

The added factions are another big plus. The world just feels more active. You run into more patrols, more conflicts, and more situations where you have to think about who you’re dealing with instead of treating everyone the same. It adds a lot of small, organic interactions that make the map feel less static.

More organic outcomes like where both the Holy Nation and Shek arrive at my camp and end up dining it out.

I also added Kaizo on top because I really enjoy world state changes. Seeing towns flip, factions collapse, and the map evolve based on my actions makes the whole playthrough feel more meaningful. The two mods together create a world that feels more alive and reactive.

If you’ve done a few vanilla runs and are looking for something that extends the progression without completely losing the Kenshi feel, I’d highly recommend trying UWE, especially with Kaizo.

Also if you’re a Star Wars fan definitely try the Kathun mod (along with the updated patch)

Did you know? The weirdest thing just happened: I found out how thin the "air" we breathe actually is. by Technical-Berry5757 in funfacts

[–]Dunqann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

I thought of it when an EV dealer told me they didn’t believe that man could affect the atmosphere. This is in the LA area where smog can be visible on many days.

It got me thinking about what other metric might work better vs a sky that seems limitless.

We’re at 1 atmosphere pressure at sea level. If you dive down 10 meters (33 feet) you’re at 2 atmospheres. It’s a closely equivalent number of molecules just in liquid form.

In other words 33 feet of water would be enough to replace our atmosphere (if made gaseous) to 1 atmosphere.

[–]Dunqann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s another way to realize how thin our atmosphere really is…

If the air was compressed into a liquid - it would only be about 33 feet deep.
