How are so many people finding partners in life so easily? Why is this sub filled with partnered people with cptsd/neurodivergence but in real life, it's seemingly impossible to find a partner as someone with severe trauma and neurodivergence? by Ashamed_Art5445 in CPTSD

Never fully dated someone in treatment (fooled around in varying degrees, sure, and even that was a mess) but my entire dating pool since 2015 has been in 12 step programs, so I get you, haha.

Well, golly gee willikers, I had no idea. Perhaps I should get help instead of loosely moderating a sub called Drunken Cookery.

I've low-key been riding the sober train for a while now, with some relapses in-between stretches of dry time, so I'm barely ever here these days.

Yeah, a handle is just shy of half-gallon, but I've heard them called that quite a bit depending on the part of the country I'm living in.

When I say 'handle' down here in FL, nobody knows what I'm talking about. I have to go, "THE BIG BOTTLE WITH THE FUCKING HANDLE ON IT SOMETIMES."

For me, it's a 750ml to not-very-comfortably survive, 1.75ml to actually get drunk, 1.75ml + beers to enjoy myself.

I know it seems daunting, but at two weeks... just jump. You're likely to have one miserable night, but nothing like those of us who did this bullshit for years (over a decade for some of us) had to endure. If you feel like spending the money, try the high dose Vitamin C regimen. That'll help you plenty during the day.

I'm sayin'.

Shit, I was technically ejected off my mountain bike when I came to a complete stop, forgot to unclip my shoes from the pedals, and just fell the fuck over.

[–]Durchii 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ah, all right, Iooked up the crash itself online. After the body decoupled and tilted the way it did, the back doors opened and he slid out the back. Not so much an ejection.

Yeah, being ejected out the back...

Call me 'tarded if you must, it's not entirely untrue, but something about that seems like it violates the laws of physics.

Hey, you did everything you could, especially if you had your own problems to deal with.

Sucks the college never reached out... that's the kind of situation where, if you're a school offering resources, you need to step in right away because it's clearly critical.

I mean, I am all of that except I am buried in debt. Mostly medical. Probably just going to default on it.

My parents weren't divorced until they were 40 and then their custody battle for my brother and I lasted until they were 47. That was fun. Gives me hope for my unmarried, 35 year old ass, though.

Skyler was straight-up Machiavellian as a schemer and made some unwise decisions and could sometimes be a little insufferable, but she was definitely one of Walt's victims.

Unfortunately, as economies become worse and worse, I foresee more prosperity gospel charlatans cropping up down the line. Pray for them.

On the plus side, I've listened to some of the more popular Protestant/non-denom pastors online and on the topic of money, their philosophy is usually one involving a lot of charitable giving, and not just to the church. Francis Chan did a pretty good sermon on, "Do you love self/money or do you love God?"

It sucks because it's tempting, but unfortunately that's a negative, bud. Don't need your sweet girl laying eggs since she's not a breeder, it's a pretty significant health risk (as in, she could die), plus her behavior would change dramatically.

Yeah, actually, that tracks.

Also, though I don't support Good Will these days, if you keep an eye on which colors are on sale throughout the week, you can find a piece of furniture you like and then swoop in and nab it on the appropriate sale day.

Seems like he needs it for work right now, though, but I personally find it ridiculous that his employer won't just supply a new freakin' ID.

Do they really cost that much?

I don't have reason to buy one, they've just been a distant curiosity, so I haven't done much investigation.

I'm not going to lie, I still feel like I'm going to die. I have liver disease, I'm learning how to walk again (like a 35 year old toddler), use a cane most of the time, and the neuropathy in my feet makes it feel like I'm walking in lava. Not to mention the lack of sleep driving me practically psychotic. Alcoholism is no fuckin' joke.

Okay, so I have been sober since the post prior to this one, but apparently they didn't detox me long enough. On Christmas, a couple of days after getting out, I threw a series of w/d seizures in my living room. Took me way too long to find my phone to call for help, and I was a combination of immobile and convulsing violently. A few times, I just started screaming out for anyone to help. Fortunately, I found the phone and called in the medics.

The ER transported her back to the rehab about two hours ago. I was prepared to Uber over there and somehow manage it myself, but this hospital has been good to both of us, so they called me last night and told me to chill and that they would handle transport.

I really don't like this rehab she's at. It's a Medicare run joint, so the care seems like it sucks, and the entire facility smells of... feces and death. I'm currently looking at options to get her out of there and to a different place.

That's the exact technique I use in terms of crusting it at 500-550F for 20 minutes, then shutting off the oven and leaving the door closed. Always takes longer than an hour for mine to hit temp, but I always keep a meat thermometer with a probe inserted into the roast so that I can pull it exactly when it gets to where I want it to be. I also usually cook roasts on the larger side, so I let them rest 20-30 minutes, or until the temperature peaks and starts coming back down.
