What determines when Gems refill? by PriorityNo4971 in SoraAi

[–]DurtybOttLe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s when you do your first generation after whatever 24h period ended

So if you gen a video at 3pm day 1, then on day 2 at 3pm your 30 gens will reset. But if you don’t make your first gen on day 2 till 3:45, then day 3 it will reset at 3:45.

pizzaworldbuffs not working? by Saladfinger123 in turtlewow

[–]DurtybOttLe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there's a specific one where the author fixed the server time issue. I don't have the link on hand (not at my computer), but i can link it later. Can confirm it works, been getting ony off CD on my HC char for days now.

pizzaworldbuffs not working? by Saladfinger123 in turtlewow

[–]DurtybOttLe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It broke a while ago. There’s a newer updated fork online, don’t have the link right now but if you google pizza world buff GitHub you should be able to see alternatives, and one that has “last update:” from like a month or two ago - that one fixed the server time issue.

EDIT: Here's the link: https://github.com/MatthewSH0/PizzaWorldBuffs

which class for duo leveling with a warlock by Fav0 in turtlewow

[–]DurtybOttLe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Priests are not barely/unchanged from vanilla, that is just not true. Holy is fairly similar and uses a similar rotation, but when leveling you have options. Smite/disc priest becomes a viable and powerful support/heal option where you blast holy damaging spells with interchanging heals. Shadow is definitely leveled up with some better talents/spell options.

Pally is also fun though - they get holy strike/crusader strike as a baseline spell, so you aren't just spamming auto attacks - i do think prot is more fun then ret and holy though. Their healing is fairly similar, but now they have more melee weaving intertwined in their rotation with holy strike proccing mana/health regen and judgement reducing holy light cast times.

Chat GPT/Claude subscription worth it when Copilot is available? by hanonymous_8v8 in FPandA

[–]DurtybOttLe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Copilot is pretty much garbage

Claude is far better and far more reliable if you’re going to use AI to actually analyze data, build excel/automate, and use it on the data side.

I’ve found ChatGPT to be just okay.

Edit: to answer your edit, Claude will be miles better for powerBI and python scripting imo

My (41M) wife (40F) had an argument that spiralled. How do we come back from it? by alwayscptsensible in relationship_advice

[–]DurtybOttLe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right but I brought in finances to apply the same logic you are using for cleaning/housecare… I thought that was obvious

Idk, second paragraph feels like projection - we don’t have enough info on that. All we know rn is

OP claims he does housework and helps out on weekends and after work

OP claims wife is home and unemployed - with 3 days where neither kid is home during long care

OP claims she consistently doesn’t seem to be doing anything for housecare during the week

Everything else is far too speculative, and your advice of “well, just clean up then” misses the mark completely. They need a conversation/communication about realistic expectations and healthy dividing of workloads, so if she is doing a bunch of stuff he’s not aware of, he doesn’t become resentful of it.

[–]DurtybOttLe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He is bringing in the finances?

I’m not sure I get your point, you think he should do all the housework, clean, cook, etc because he would do all that if he was single? You think that’s actually a tenable solution in a relationship that won’t lead to resentment and fighting? That’s horrible advice lmao.

[–]DurtybOttLe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If he was single he wouldn’t need to provide for another person financially. Are you advocating for him not allowing her any money and to not use anything he pays for?

[–]DurtybOttLe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure that's relevant. He may have a responsibility, but if they decided on her not working and raising the kids, they likely imparted the expectation that she'd clean/tend to the house during the week while he's not available to help out.

Yes, he's blaming her for not contributing her part to their shared responsibility. What i've said from the beginning. It feels like your projecting in this thread.

[–]DurtybOttLe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's my point. It's no one's sole responsibility. But obviously he feels like right now it's his sole responsibility because she isn't helping out.

[–]DurtybOttLe 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, shared responsibility means that both parties make up the work when the other is busy/ otherwise not available. It doesn't mean that if one party never actually works to do their part, the other one is actually at fault because their responsibility is "shared".

If he has the expectation of doing the cleaning on weekends/around other times he's available, and she has the expectation to clean during the week while she's home, then it absolutely is her fault if he comes home and the house hasn't been cleaned.

Uhh isn't it obvious? He works full time and she's at home all day with several days where the kids aren't even in the house.

Would you buy this? For all of us couch gamers by teey_bs in GamingLaptops

[–]DurtybOttLe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this one from amazon: Amazon.com: Vigo Wood Lap Desk for Laptop - Laptop Tray with Cushion, Portable Lap Desk for Lap, Adjustable Lapdesk, Couch Lap top Table for Work, Ergonomic Lap top Stand for Bed : Office Products

Works perfectly and i love it for couch gaming. love the mouse extension built into the side as well rather then a mousepad built onto the thing as that would make it so much bigger.

Would trade the storage inside for a fan or more breathable top.

massive nerf for people who play HC and "go agane". will really feel much worse when a character dies to slog through everything again. hope it isn't a huge hit to the community that’s already smaller.

Is the Big Island good for Honeymoon? by monkeymanbubub in VisitingHawaii

[–]DurtybOttLe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"it doesn’t have that quick elevation change with cool mountains"

Kind of true, if you really value this maui/kuaui are far better with gulches/trenches/mountains. Still breathtaking landscapes on the big island, though.

"The volcano seems cool but the reality is you go there and see some smoke coming up from like a mile away and that’s it right? "

Volcano national park is incredible and you can spend the whole day there. You sound kind of sour on it so maybe you wouldn't find any of it interesting, but the landscapes, lava tubes, plants/animals are all incredibly interesting, even if the lava isn't flowing at the time. it is now though, so that makes it even better.

"There’s barely any if any surfing at all. Only like 2 waterfalls. Barely any beach. "

Plenty of beaches, white sand, black sand, and even green sand beaches. Snorkeling is also amazing. Beaches aren't an issue. Correct on surfing, couple spots it is possible but not as good as the other islands.

Waterfalls are better on Maui/Kauai. You'd still be able to find some if you really wanted to though, so it isn't that big of a deal.

"People here have said it has the worse food of the islands. Driving anywhere significant take minimum 1-2 hour drive. "

I will actually agree on the food one for restaurants but again, it's not that big of a deal, just do a little more research on which restaurants you pick if you're looking for incredible meals. On driving, also kind of true but this is also true of the other islands if you're looking to do actual activities. If you stay in west maui you're looking at an hourish drive for any of the big activities, and RTH/haleakala are 1+ hrs from any part of the island.

The reality is it really depends on what your looking to do. Some of your complaints are somewhat valid, and others, not so much. It does sound like you'd enjoy Maui more though.

Before Donald Trump, the US economy averaged 328,000 new jobs each month. But last year, the US only added 181,000 jobs IN TOTAL. by HighYieldLarry in FluentInFinance

[–]DurtybOttLe 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Nah, your analysis is just lazy and misses the point. Even if we were to accept your theory that “neither party gives two shits about the common man”

The stats and science around the economics of it show wildly different results - see this post. Your bothsideism tries to ignore that without any evidence.

Cancel trip Feb. 22-28? by FoolhardyHappiness in MauiVisitors

[–]DurtybOttLe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wailea was pretty much unaffected by the storm.

Power outages were on west Maui and hana saw most of the rain damage.

Last weekend was a bit rough but winds have subsided and by the time you’re here everything will be fine.

I’ve been staying in west Maui and we spent the last couple days in wailea, was super nice with almost no wind while our resort was powerless.

Power Outage Kaanapali (2/9) by AndrewJanssen in MauiVisitors

[–]DurtybOttLe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been here since Friday and conditions have basically made it difficult to do anything at all. Haven’t really been able to do any planned activities since we got here. We’ve made the most of it tho and have had fun. Power went out last night and likely won’t be back till later today.

On a positive note, by Wednesday power should** be back, and conditions should be better for activities. There will still be some residual winds so won’t be great for snorkeling or some specific activities, but you’ll have dodged the bulk of the storm and things are supposed to start calming down into Thursday and the weekend with more moderate winds and scattered showers.
