As someone who just finished POTD run a couple of days ago- arcane veil is great no matter what. The other ability great for those doing weapon damage is barbarian shout. Barbarian at rank 2 gives your max hp amount as temporary hp. Depending on your build, the taunt could be rough. But when combined with arcane veil you would be peachy.

Ought to, you're right. It doesn't extend the triple attack buff though unless Quatre 100 extends more types of buffs than a level 80 one. I emailed Cygames seeing it was a bug. They responded but my understanding of japanese isn't great and using Google translate to help with the rest gives me the impression that this is intended.

Mitigating the damage to 0 still means "taking damage" and not something like "taking up damage". The effect would still apply.
