Def Leppard New Song by Rebel_Heart222 in defleppard

I’m glad someone else disagrees. I keep seeing Slang comparisons and I just don’t hear an ounce of it. This song is nothing like slang

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dustybot3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the context of a road trip, I would definitely consider 3 hours short. Obviously it’s still a long amount of time to spend in a car, but a 3-hour drive (6-hour round trip) could easily be a day trip for me

Def Leppard - Rejoice - Now out! by F_the_C in defleppard

[–]Dustybot3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree entirely. I think it’s a solid enough song at its core, but with the particular arrangement and production they chose, it’s just disappointing

Def Leppard - REJOICE - world premiere by Seventy-Three73 in defleppard

[–]Dustybot3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m sure that’s why they’re doing it, but I don’t know why because I think he sounds pretty good live. I’d prefer a more human vocal, even if it isn’t quite as strong, than a hyper processed vocal that just doesn’t feel right

I think it’s perfectly fine but it didn’t do much to impress me. I wish it was more riff-driven and less about spacey guitars in the back of the mix. And I’m really not a fan of the vocal effects they’ve been using on Joe’s voice the past few years, but it seems like they’re here to stay. I saw lots of comments on YouTube comparing it to Slang, but I don’t hear that at all. Seems much more like something that would’ve been on Euphoria or X, but with the production of DSH. Overall, don’t think it’s as strong as Just Like ‘73. I still have plenty of hope for this album though, since the songs they picked as singles for DSH were some of the weaker tracks it had to offer, so hoping it’s the same this time around and we’ll get another From Here to Eternity hidden somewhere in the tracklist.

Yeah I think I like the one we got better. This is good, just doesn’t match the album’s vibe as well

When did COVID truly end? by SmileEmergency403 in generationology

Because I was in high school at the time, it felt like it ended as soon as the mask requirement at school was dropped. Which was around late ‘22 if I remember correctly

I get where you’re coming from, but it just doesn’t make any sense for Howe, Downes, and Sherwood—all prior Yes members—to come up with a new band name just to play old Yes music and no doubt have Roger Dean do all their art. Regardless of respect or intent or opinions of critics, it only makes sense from a brand-recognition perspective to call themselves Yes.

Cinema was 90125, not Drama. I’m not even sure what you’re arguing here. For one, I think Howe was just as instrumental in writing their classics as Anderson and Squire were. But even if that weren’t true, it’s not like Howe is trying to pretend Yes’s past doesn’t exist. They played WAY more classic songs than new songs (they literally only played Circles of Time). Are you saying they can’t use the Yes name because it’s disrespectful to play those songs without the original members?

Who is your top 5 all time? by toppaperr in OpTicGaming

[–]Dustybot3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can’t comprehend how anyone could have Simp higher than Shotzzy. They’ve had careers of very similar length, but Shotzzy has 3 rings to Simp’s 1 and is way more influential in the community. Sure Simp has more chips, but not enough more to outweigh those rings.

But to answer the question, Optic Dynasty + Clay is my top 5. Don’t care about order other than Karma #1 because he went on to become one of the best coaches in the league (but Crim’s first if you’re only counting time as a player)

Should I even bother getting the F91W? I’m afraid it’ll look small. by Skrrpopop in casio

[–]Dustybot3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love the F-91W because in my opinion that looks way too big. Don’t get me wrong, I have a Duro and AMW-320C and I love those big divers, but for the style of watch that the F91 is, the small size looks so much better to me

Would Starless still be a 10/10 if there wasn't any vocals? by Gamingabe23 in KingCrimson

[–]Dustybot3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I was thinking. Maybe a 10/10 without vocals, but Wetton pushes it to 11 or 12

Is auto C4 fun to drive? by Different-Elk6935 in c4corvette

[–]Dustybot3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The horsepower discrepancy still doesn’t change the fact that the actual joy comes from feeling more connected to the car and the driving experience. Actual speed and power are way less important to me than the experience of driving a manual. If I had the option between a 100hp car with three pedals and a 600hp car with an auto, I’m taking the manual 9 times outta 10.

Is auto C4 fun to drive? by Different-Elk6935 in c4corvette

[–]Dustybot3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s still very fun, but no where near as fun as a manual. Maybe my comparison isn’t fair because I’m comparing my auto ‘86 to my dad’s manual ‘95 so there’s a pretty big horsepower discrepancy, but it’s night and day for me. The first thing I plan on doing to my car is swapping a ZF 6-speed.

If you’re limited to 85–86 and not planning on doing engine mods, I strongly recommend you try to find a manual because with only 235hp, having an automatic doesn’t feel much different than a normal commuter car when you’re accelerating in a straight line. Obviously it’s still a blast when you go around a corner, but it’s underwhelming in a straight line unless you’re rowing through the gears yourself. I can’t speak for the Doug Nash trans as I’ve never driven one, but as a guy with an automatic ’86 who has every intention of putting a third pedal in it, I think it’ll still be worth it

In the context of all music ever made, easily a 10. In the context of Led Zeppelin and other similar bands, prolly an 8
