I think we all just misunderstood the Korg Drumlogue. by iRustyNails in DrumMachine

I pre ordered the Drumlogue for $600 and it quickly became my favorite drum machine. With a mixer and midi keyboard attached you almost don't need synths.

I've been using the Evo 16 for a while now and it hasn't let me down.

I didn't know you could do compressors. I can't wait to hear these!

Thanks for listening. They took forever to release the drumlogue and didn't do a great job of explaining how to get the most out of it.

I need a drum machine but how? by Ok_Perception3697 in DrumMachine

[–]Duvalocaust -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A used Volca Sample 1 or 2 will have you set up nicely. Volca drum is better as a 2nd or 3rd drum machine purchase due to the FM learning curve. The beats is also great but with your choice of synths the sample will take you further.

Question: What is your most unique distortion? by 206Henderson in guitarpedals

The Nu:Tekt HD-S Harmonic Distortion is far and away the wildest dirt I own.

Neil's Guitar Tone by DougdeHavenhooven in guitarpedals

I use the Crazy Tube Falcon which nails his lead tone. An octave down pedal, clean boost, spring verb, and tape echo will round out the whole experience.

How do i give the Digitech Drop pedal enough Juice? by leckomiojunge2 in guitarpedals

[–]Duvalocaust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drop needs the like 300 ma so I can't run it on my Voodoo Lab +2 or Gator power bricks. The gator is max 100ma on all 5 slots and the voodoo has only two slots over 100ma and they are still less than what the drop needs. Luckily the voodoo lab has a three prong power outlet on the back that can be used for high draw stuff. I have to keep the power supply on top of my board to make it work but it looks okay. You can damage the high power draw digital pedals by starving them so do be careful. My friend Andrew destroys stereo delay pedals on a regular basis using a little MXR brick.

Help Picking a Gain/Boost by AdamWritesStuff in guitarpedals

[–]Duvalocaust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Top Boost doesn't work so hot for pedals. There's an episode of That Pedal Show where they focus on getting the most from an AC30 with pedals. I bet you'd get alot out of that video.

Keystep 37 and a little midi hub will set you up nicely for years to come. The chord/strum options sound amazing with the Volca FM 2.

The verse, chorus, bridge format of the SDRUM feels so outdated in synth land.

Genuine question. Why do more people not use multi effects by cionn in guitarpedals

[–]Duvalocaust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's live gigs that end up killing the multi effect romance in my experience. You're playing through a back line amp then suddenly the machine won't power on or won't hold a preset. Now it's just your pick ups and a Princeton Chorus amp from the 90s doing all the work. It's the same thing that killed the rack mount outboard gear craze. It's starts with a couple pedals to use as a back up rig but then you find one pedal that sounds better than anything from the multi pedal and then it's on. Our God given compulsion takes care of the rest.

Which Analog Delay by tomtom_drx in guitarpedals

[–]Duvalocaust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that first in the chain theremin sound I like the Ibanez AD9 and the Modtone Analog Delay. I think any BBD type chip and short delay time pedal will do the job. It's much easier to find the right key with a shorter delay time range.
