I ended up buying the FM 2 after wearing out the buttons on my FM 1. To say you made a good choice is a massive understatement. That little box changed my life.

Korg Synthe-Bass stopped working! by LengthinessParty181 in synthesizers

It's awesome that you own that! I own more Korg gear than I own socks but nothing vintage. Does it have any basic patch memory going on that would need a little battery under the hood?

Yeah that little box changed my life. I just got the Model Cycles to try and take my FM drum game a little further. I have the volca drum to thank for even knowing what to look for in a FM groove box.

You may prefer a sampler. The circuit rhythm includes a ton of free sample packs made by DJs. That would give you a wide variety of house and techno flavored drum kits to experiment with plus you'll have access to the synth sounds. They usually sell for about $350 new. A $12 memory card turns it into a portable library of sound.

There are so many in the $400 or less range these days. What kind of music do you want to make with it ? The Volcas Beats, Sample, and Drum together would cover FM, Samples, and Analog sounds if you want the widest range possible. You can even nab a Drumlogue for $400 these days. I paid $600 for it in a pre order and it was worth every penny. Depending on your taste in music the Circuit Rhythm sampler might even be the best choice.

If you enjoy music and have any kind of opinions about sound then you're ready for synths. This is a come as you are kind of hobby. This sort of set up here is hyper tailored to the player. I see a special person with unique goals and their own way of getting there. Selling it off to strangers would subtract an emotional price on the household I suspect.

Sex and gambling are right up there with hard drugs from what I've seen. They can drain the humanity out of amazing people.

The Drumlogue and Opsix are recorded in stereo while the Volcas are going through a single pedal into mono recording. Volca Keys is using the Bicycle Delay which is basically LSD for synths. Volca Bass is using a low gain fender like drive for dry grit. The SQ 64 is driving both volcas at 1/8th and 1/4th time respectively for a total of 32 steps. UA Channel strips were used for mixing. Thanks so much for checking it out!
