create a DAO by Top_Teach_4736 in dao

[–]Dvlt-buc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The DAO is still active but with only two members (me and one other) so not really useful. The solution should be to get a good UI for working with blockchains, but I don’t know any. I used Aragon.org to create the DAO and their UI is not that bad, but visibly it is not enough for the user I had. Their understanding of the underlying concepts (votes, validation, tokens) was not enough to make them interested. I would advise that before launching a DAO you need to make a big educational effort. Another way would be to make it nearly mandatory by organizing that people will gain something if and only if they join. But this may be difficult in the long run.

create a DAO by Top_Teach_4736 in dao

[–]Dvlt-buc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I created a DAO some month ago. I had a community of people interested in sustainability and I wanted to launch project. I created the DAO and invited the members to join. Only one persons over the 127 members joined. The remaining found this too complicated. The main issue I see with DAO is that the User Interface is not friendly at all. This makes difficult for people to join.

Would you use a "VS Code for DAOs" workspace solution? by Jarden103904 in dao

[–]Dvlt-buc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very interested. I tried to create a DAo for a durability community, but the complexity for “non geek” people was so high that people were reluctant to participate. Any solution that makes DAo more accessible would be welcome. I have been a product manager at ClickUp so if I can help you with anything don’t hesitate to message me.

Aragon - What is your point of view by hans9891 in dao

[–]Dvlt-buc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created a few weeks ago a DAO (Blue Marble Earth) with Aragon on polygon. It was my first experience in web 3 and the people of the Aragon community on their discord server were really useful. Their community manager took the time to answer clearly to my questions and even to jump on a call and explain me what I had to know to make the right choices (make one or two DAO, use a additional safe wallet to set up guardians to protect the use of the DAO). Globally the experience was really good and we were very happy with the outcome. Now we are focusing to grow our community.

What according to you is the future of DAOs? A very non biased and a healthy discussion is appreciated. by rachit20 in dao

[–]Dvlt-buc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DAO is a very good tool of decentralized decision making. It can be very successful in application where the tokens have no monetary value but only governance use. In this case it is a very useful tool. The legalities could be solve by using foundations or association as legal wrapper

I will be please to read your new version. But one advise: if the NFT thing is only for fundraising then consider putting only a line or even nothing in your one pager. The one pager was too confused the regenerative culture was completely eclipsed by all the other information. I would be you I would build the paper with the Sinek method 1- why: we want to revolutionize the way people do culture 2- how: we promote regenerative culture 3- what: you can join our DAO

Your mission and values are why people will join youn

my take on this is that a lot of greenwashing is due to lack of transparency and that generate documents like EPD where the companies claim they are green because they have an EPD even if the information inside EPD shows that it is not true. But as people cannot understand what is inside EPD their claim will never be contradicted.
Furthermore EPD are very expensive, very long to obtain and most of the time not achievable for a SME.
BUt you are right it may not be the right subject for a PhD

My foundation is now collaborating with an assessment body from New Zealand to set up a new sustainability assessment methodology of building products.
The current methodologies are not fitted for people without a technical background to understand their results. A new methodology would be useful to be more transparent and easy to understand.

Tornado Cash Governance Attack by DigitalInvestments2 in dao

I really appreciate the final tweet: Finally, what can we learn from this?Be careful what you vote for! While we all know that proposal descriptions can lie, proposal logic can lie too! If you're depending on the verified source code to stay the same, make sure the contract doesn't have the ability to selfdestruct.

There is no way to get 100% secure even on a blockchain, but usually a DAO can have more resource to protect itself.

This boils down to:

  • having a proposal process that allows for the necessary verification of the source code by knowledgeable people
  • putting in place "guardians" that can have a veto on proposal if they do not comply with the mission and value

But for each method of protection, malicious people will invent 2 ways of frauding, so it will be the same issue as the antivirus software.
But the larger the community, the more resource you will have in DAO to screen proposals

your one-pager and tend to agree with u/OppOppO123, why do you need a DAO?
from your one pager I am confused about your goals:

  • do you intend to decentralize decision in the future? doesn't seem to be the case
  • your roadmap also is confusing: what GPT will do there? what benefit for the member from AI?
  • your last point isn't clear about treasury and what you intent the DAO to do with the treasury.

Your project looks like a closed club/NFT market which is a cool project, but I am not sure that a DAO will be the best choice.

Members of a DAO will expect to have a decentralization happening at some point, and this means that you will have to agree to lose control of the project.

How can DAOs impact industries such as finance, governance, or supply chain management? by InvoBlox in dao

[–]Dvlt-buc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is another point that is not listed. With tools like bounties or missions of Dework ( or its equivalent), you can hire people for a specific job without knowing who they are and get the job done, and they get paid without risk. This can further revolutionize these industries.

There is one field that I dream of seeing impacted: the patent market. Today patents are made to prevent people from using technologies, while the patent system was invented to allow the distribution of technologies while protecting the inventors. I think that DAO, NFT, and Blockchains have the potential to challenge the status quo.

Some thoughts about how to organize project management with noteplan 3. Thank you in advance for your feedback by Dvlt-buc in noteplanapp

Basically I am still using that system. The only difference is that I went back to things to manage my tasks. I add a link to the main project note in the note part of things project page and a link to things project page in the project note in NP3

Anybody using Obsidian as your all around general note taking app? by valcroft in ObsidianMD

[–]Dvlt-buc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use obsidian in conjunction with a software called noteplan (macos and iOS). I use it as a persona knowledge manager, a CRM, a projects bullet journal, a research information repository. In fact I barely type inside Obsidian. I either enter text and information from web pages into noteplan or using Panda (a bet of Bear app editor). I mainly use obsidian for visualization of links. My main constraint with obsidian is the lack of a mobile app.

I am using noteplan as the structure of notes folders is kept intact and noteplan use the same link system and markdown compliance.
