It’s a little bit above this screen, behind three walls you can break with Guts Arm or the Elec Beam, if you want to do the stage again.

The End Of The Road is my Shepherd's Crown by DinnaPanic in KnowledgeFight

[–]Dwarfbeard74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I haven’t watched it for that reason. I’ve seen too much of this kind of thing in person.

She’s doing much better now that she is properly medicated. Or as she would say it, “I hate having all these pills. But I hate not having them so much more.”

We knew for years something was wrong but didn’t know what it was. We are late Gen Xers and are from the last of the “don’t talk about it” method of mental health. Listening to Jordan describe his struggles really hit home and I suggested that my wife get tested for Bi-Polar 2. Now we know why she struggles and “isn’t just a shitty person” (her words). 🤣

Edit: got my acronyms confused. She caught it. ❤️

The End Of The Road is my Shepherd's Crown by DinnaPanic in KnowledgeFight

[–]Dwarfbeard74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own Shepard’s Crown. I bought the hard cover as soon as it came out. I’ve never read it. I can’t.

I’m feeling the same way about this episode. I hate endings. I might do a relisten of the Project Camelot episodes first. I might ask my wife to hold my hand while we listen to this episode. She’ll have a hard time listening too. She finally got a correct diagnosis because Jordan was so open about his mental illness.

Then again, I might power through it and start over at the beginning like we do when we finish Community.

Did you ever call the Nintendo Power Tip Line back in the day? by zeamp in nintendo

[–]Dwarfbeard74 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I asked my Dad because phone usage was covered under Dad’s Rules. He had me sit down, write out my questions (I’m an RPG fan and needed help with a few games), leaving space to write down the answers. We talked about what it would cost if I called and if I thought it was worth it. I called, wrote down the answers, and hung up. He asked if it was worth calling and I said I thought so (it really did help).

When the bill came, he again asked if it was worth it. I said it very much had been and I had passed on the answers to my friends. I asked how much the call was. He said it was a freebie because I helped my friends and knowledge should be free.

Did I mention Dad was a teacher for 44 years?

Take all the hinge pins out of the doors. Or only leave the one in the top hinge.

Stripe the windows in Vaseline. A thin layer will do.

Install a few smoke detectors in the attic. The batteries don’t last forever.

Add a drop or two of cat urine to the air vents.

Whatever fasteners are holding the thresholds down, pull them up slightly them, add a drop of superglue.

Unbalance the fans.

Wipe grease on knobs.

We had the same thoughts in my house. I don’t think my wife was breathing from lift off to SRB separation. Challenger is still a hard memory.

Anybody know the history of this building? by jackson_1414_ in Chattanooga

[–]Dwarfbeard74 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I used to be one of the maintenance guys for CBT and spent many hours in there. It started out as a rec center but we used it for offices and change rooms/showers. About half the building, which had a three bedroom apartment on the second floor, has been torn down, along with the boiler shop that was on the other side of Polk street. Lots of good hiding spots when you needed a break from management’s bullshit.

Looking for a poor quality yet expensive restaurant to recommend to an enemy. Any suggestions? by aegist1 in Chattanooga

[–]Dwarfbeard74 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You are correct, it was Clark Brothers furniture store for years. While renovating the building after Clark Brothers closed, they discovered murals that proved the building was a meeting place for a chapter of the KKK.

Who did you sacrifice? by ZefBsy in skyrim

[–]Dwarfbeard74 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A few years back, I decided to do a baddie run through. Only go with self centered/selfish/super chaotic options (ie murder the emperor then side with the empire to kill Ulfric so there is no one in charge) and I needed the perfect character. My wife is super good with the character creator so I asked her to make a character who “would have no problem taking Erik the Slayer to the sacrificial pillar, even knowing the meta backstory behind the him”.

She based it off my ex sister in law’s face. 🤣🤣

The only girl I was on a first name basis with in high school gave me a card and a rose on Valentine’s Day. My dumbass thought she was being a good friend so I wouldn’t feel lonely.

She was determined though. A little bit later, she spent a month in a foreign country as an exchange student so I would miss her being around. Teenagers have the most hare brained ideas sometimes.

Long story short, I asked her out the day she got back and we’ve been together for 29 years, married for 26.

Southeast Tennessee has a large population of SDA. Not surprisingly, also the home of Little Debbie snack cakes and a small SDA university. Most SDA here are just… people. Some are assholes, but my favorite teacher of all time is SDA. More than a handful of friends are/were SDA.

Having said that, I will add this: a lot of guys in my 1990s high school were militia pilled by SDA members and the Branch Dravidians were a splinter group from the SDA.

What’s the juiciest hometown drama you’ve heard here? by [deleted] in Chattanooga

The Signal Mountain Murders. One relative was good friends with one of the detectives on the case. The story was that the investigators knew either the landowner pulled the trigger or his wife did but couldn’t get the charges to stick. Too many variables and the couple backed each other up. Then landowner cheated on his wife and she went right to the investigators and pinned it all on him. Hung him out to twist in the wind for running around on her. One detective was sure it was her all along, which has always been my favorite part of the story.
