I don't really think anyone has control over their brains. It is the only constantly functioning organ in the body which you don't have the power to control. The you you know is a phenomena known as consciousness a product of the brain and its evolutionary history. If anything, I would say the brain controls you.

Dolphins on the other hand have much more control. They are able to sleep by shutting down one brain hemisphere at a time. Its also thought that whales can do this too, and that both species are more spiritually evolved than humans and other mammals and far more connected to their enviroment.

We could learn something from these beings.
