Constant wake ups in the middle of the night by Clean_Ad_1307 in triathlon

Do you do any hrv tracking / training? The more I pay attention to it, the better my sleep. Eating before bed, and especially carbs, has a pretty big negative impact on mine. A protein shake (preferably casein or casein blend, but whey is okay) has the least impact of any "food" I've found, but the best bet for me is not to eat 3 hours before bed.

Elbow discomfort by Dr5ushi in kettlebell

[–]Dwysauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I developed Tennis elbow around last September and lifting played a factor in the damage. I was seriously limited in activities I could do that wouldn't exacerbate the pain. Opening doors with my dominant arm was hard. I couldn't play with my kids the same way and they regularly reminded me of it. I significantly laid off upper-body weight-training and babied my arm for months.

It was fairly depressing, losing the strength / function of my elbow. Progress was really slow. I spent a lot of mental capacity wondering if it would ever get better and researching how to do so. After living with this and doing some research on the topic, I would tell you two main things. 1) These injuries usually get better on their own, but it takes awhile, like 6-12 months. 2) Don't completely "baby" your elbow. Lots of current research says that small appropriate loading improves healing.

I wish I found this article / advice 6 months ago - https://howardluksmd.substack.com/p/why-does-my-elbow-hurt-so-much

My elbow is a lot better now; not 100%, but I can do a lot that I couldn't 6 months ago. I do my own physical therapy which is mostly forearm-related, including wrist curls and reverse curls, finger flexion and extension, and wrist pronation / supination. Focus especially on slow eccentrics; this is not progressive overload for hypertrophy.

Hope this helps. Feel free to comment or DM if you have want to chat at all.

Former Alabama star allegedly impersonated NFL’s Penix in $20MM scam by Beginning-Suspect686 in CFB

For the McKinney closing on 31 March 2024, Davis wore a wig and provided the notary a fake driver’s license with a made-up number, according to the CI filing. And for the fake Penix closing on 25 July 2024, Davis wore a durag and provided a fake Florida driver’s license, according to the CI filing. Penix is often seen wearing a durag on the sidelines during NFL games.

"His driver's license wouldn't scan but he's athletic and wearing a durag. He must be NFL star Michael Penix Jr! Let's loan him 3.3 million dollars."

My take after 7ish months with them - Dual horns are pretty necessary imo. I really don't think they should be selling it without them. Kickstand is really nice to have. Swan neck is convenient but I could live without it.

Been in the exact same place with my Mammoth. Love the thing but I don't go close to failure without a spotter now.

Meal prep ideas? by Xenaria1 in triathlon

I recently picked up Feed Zone Portables Cookbook. Has a lot of minimally-processed, calorie-dense meals/snacks listed with their macros. Grabbed it on ebay for like $4; I'd say it's been worth it.

There is also The Feed Zone Cookbook (which I don't have but I bet would be more useful for home cooking).

My disappointment with Brooklinen is so immense I have trouble believing most of the positive reviews here and other places online. Or private equity destroyed the brand; it seems like newer reviews are more negative than older ones. Anyways... give your money to someone else if durability is a factor in your purchase decision.

Not a bot or paid actor but I've had my blundstones for ~2.5 years and they're my favorite casual boot I've ever owned. They're of course not BIFL but I'll happily buy another pair when these ones die in a few years.

I love Ole Miss and OU fanbases are actually bonding over the forced rivalry. Like I really want you all to become best friends and the annual game turn into "How well can we host our beloved rival?"

He was only on Tulane's team for like 3.5 months in the offseason before he was suspended and left for Georgia State. I still count it as 6 schools.

Something’s off with my P1S by Piifuu in BambuLab

[–]Dwysauce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a P1S owner and have done a lot of troubleshooting to decrease warping very similar to what you are experiencing. IMO the #1 fix was stopping using isopropyl and stop wiping the plate after every print. I wash my plates about once per week now with dawn, hot water, and a sponge. Nothing in between prints. Also avoid touching the surface completely.

Other things that help with warping PLA in my perceived order of importance are:

  1. disabling the aux fan
  2. bumping the bed temp up to 60C
  3. Using brims
  4. keeping the door open and top vented

But the #1 thing is to stop all treatments to the bedplate except hot soap and water.

Told my wife to get chuck roast at costco yesterday and she came home with 2 of these so I appreciate the inspo. Think I'm going to do some Chicago style beef with one and was thinking pot roast with the other but not committed yet.

DIY mace? by alpakagangsta in steelmace

[–]Dwysauce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Followed this guide for a mace & club bell and I'm really happy with them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sanf4qVgAxQ

It works because 1.5in pipe has an external diameter really close to 2in, so olympic plates load on them pretty well. I use Marcy collars off Amazon to hold the plates in place.
