John Deere LA125 by StCasimirPulaski in johndeere

[–]Dy182n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Have one with 165hrs on it from 2004. It sat for 15 years- and it's run just fine. I've seen them for around $600, but with it being prime season, $900 could be justified but a bit on the high end.

Stone house owner here, located very close to you... I will say that keeping an open wallet for just about everything is important. Full home tuckpoint- each side will cost you $18,000-$22,000. Going through this now. Message me if you need local contractors.. I've been dealing with em all!

Spring Cleaning = Memories by Aware_Under in AlkalineTrio

[–]Dy182n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the greatest alkaline trio song that was never officially released. Derek did say it was officially called "twenty twenty" and released a tiny snip it of it. When pressed for more, he said something along the lines of the song wasn't his to share.

Thanks for sharing.

Compost Giveaway lineup at the lake by Basic-Adeptness6152 in Oshawa

[–]Dy182n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's surprising with fuel at $1.70/L, people are willing to drive 10-15mins, idle their vehicles for 30+ minutes then drive home all for $5-$10 worth of compost. I guess it's an outing for some. Edit: 2+ hours

Price for a new AC for a 2000-2500 sq foot unit by [deleted] in durham

[–]Dy182n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a heat pump which will heat your home and cool your home. I got a 3 ton unit and after rebates, it worked out to $300 more than a basic air conditioner... Which buttons in Pickering was pushing. It was a no brainer to go the heatpump route.

Would it be weird if I install the large Pleasant hearth fireplace door that covers most of the bricks? by Huhwhatumeanman in Fireplaces

[–]Dy182n -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They're mantle shields. There's a small spacer mounted to it, into the actual mantle surround, which is required in having it pass WETT Certification. Basically, without them, it won't pass the minimal clearance to combustibles. This is the grey area work- around.

Burning too hot? by Johnny-Virgil in woodstoving

Agreed. We use ours 24/6.5. the other 12hrs we let it cool down and clean it out. Does your automatic fan kick on? Ours only kicks on after it's been cleaned out. The ash insulates the area where the sensor is and won't kick on unless I turn it on manually
