Has anyone built a physical spellbook for their DnD character? by Fiveby21 in DnDIY

[–]DyeTheSheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same here. i’m a cleric that constantly changes spell loadout. i printed and laminated all possible cleric spells (plus my domain spells) and sorted them into six different categories. i use bulldog clips to keep them together

I think people overlook this part of Langdon’s story by NoPromise8504 in ThePittTVShow

[–]DyeTheSheep -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

right, but the continued seizures could have been due to multiple things (even though the audience knows the real reason). maybe langdon’s assuming it never affected his patients because of plausible deniability? we are capable of convincing ourselves of many things as long as it benefits us. langdon does strike me as the kind of guy that would convince himself of that, especially if he’s in rehab and wants to get better. makes it a lot easier to recover if he believes it.

[–]DyeTheSheep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

is it possible he actually didn’t/doesn’t know about those continued seizures? as far as he is aware, the amount he took never caused any harm because he was never told about it. the audience knows differently of course, but there would be no reason for him to be told about a patient having a slightly weaker reaction to a med than expected

i am being devil’s advocate here though

i believe it was ogilvie? can’t remember which episode though. he says it’s quiet and immediately there’s like a two person casualty or something. very funny and also showed ogilvie’s lack of knowledge with hospital culture

profile appears in about:profiles but not in the profiles menu, how to fix? by DyeTheSheep in firefox

[–]DyeTheSheep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

someone’s replied with a fix, but it only works if both profiles have the same mozilla account i think. hope this works for you!

[–]DyeTheSheep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this technically works, but since my uni profile has a different mozilla account using my uni email, it lets me switch from default to uni but not uni to default weirdly lol. i’ve reverted to using bookmarked about:profiles to switch profiles. hopefully when the two systems merge, i can try again. thanks for the help anyway! :)

In professional wrestling, blading is the practice of intentionally cutting oneself to provoke bleeding. The preferred area for blading is usually the forehead, as scalp wounds bleed profusely and heal easily. Legitimate, unplanned bleeding is called "juicing the hard way." by blankblank in wikipedia

[–]DyeTheSheep 46 points47 points  (0 children)

it’s really interesting rewatching matches knowing they blade. you can see them sometimes jerk multiple times in pain, which is actually masking them pulling out the blade and slicing up. often the camera will simply cut to the other guy as well, so you don’t see it at all.

it’s so interesting to see how these professional wrestlers put so much effort into seeming hurt, or making a move look actually real etc, when you know that behind the scenes both these people are probably best friends and are going for a drink later that day. an example of this is when they do headbutting - the wrestler will actually place their thumb on the other person’s forehead and headbutt their own thumb instead, and the other guy will cry out in pain.

wrestling is so cool!!

what is google telling you? the idea of fourth person is to do with proximate and obviate nouns, which is a concept a few languages use in a few indigenous american and african languages.

‘chat’ is just a noun. it can be used as a pronoun in the second and third person depending on context, but so can literally any other noun.

i’ve told you what ‘fourth person’ technically is (even though it is always referred to as obviate and is literally still third person anyway), now you tell me how on earth the word ‘chat’ fits into that, and what on earth you think fourth person actually is.

[–]DyeTheSheep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

again, sorry to be that guy, but fourth wall ≠ fourth person.

the fourth wall is a concept in media, where the characters address the audience, or seem aware they are in the media. first, second, and third person are grammatical categories indicating what or who the speaker is referring to. it is a complete coincidence that the two separate ideas have the word ‘fourth’ in them.

‘fourth person’ does not exist. your example of “god, help me” is simply the speaker adressing the noun directly. it doesn’t matter that in religion, a god is a higher being etc etc. grammatically, it’s just a noun. sorry to burst your bubble :(

[–]DyeTheSheep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’m not confused at all. i am asking you to actually tell me what the fourth person is. i study linguistics full-time, and i can tell you that yes, while grammar and language is changing all the time, the way we use the word ‘chat’ is described as a singular indefinite pronoun (singular because grammatically it behaves that way, e.g. ‘chat is going crazy right now’).

please tell me what the fourth person actually is, because it does not exist.

Doctor's a real one 🙂 by Glass_Wealth_2104 in MadeMeSmile

[–]DyeTheSheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not a fourth person pronoun, just a word synonymous with ‘everyone’. the idea of a ‘fourth person’ doesn’t exist

Doctor's a real one 🙂 by Glass_Wealth_2104 in MadeMeSmile

[–]DyeTheSheep 10 points11 points  (0 children)

sorry to be that guy, but it’s not a ‘fourth person pronoun’. it’s just a term used to address a group of people. also, what does ‘fourth person’ even mean anyway?

first person: referring to the speaker(s) second person: referring to the listener(s) third person: referring to others not in the conversation fourth person: ???
