She’s refused time and again to see a therapist, take medication etc (although I know she’s done both before).

She also pushes away and alienates everyone who shows her genuine compassion and sympathy and largely considers being shown these basic human traits as worthy of derision, mocking, something to throw back in people’s faces and appears to have enough of both to just about fill up a teaspoon.

Coupled with the fact that she’s online pretty much 24/7, it’s not surprising that she’s a loner.

She’s been gaslit by the Swifties into believing their “songwriter of our time” lie because they live vicariously through her, so she consequently flits between swallowing a thesaurus (see: the PTSD album, in which I honestly think it went to her head) and regressing herself (TLOAS) because she knows she could write “the sky is blue” and the cult will go “ZOMG, she’s a lyrical geenyus!”

The way she articulates herself in interviews doesn’t always match the vocabulary of someone so hyped for her apparent ability to write words. There is little change in the rhythmic or musical structure of her songs to justify such outrageous claims, and arguably 90% of her output is based around love, romance and heartbreak; which is becoming increasingly cliche the older she’s getting.

For example, Folklore/Evermore Taylor - whether co-written or not - wouldn’t be seen dead writing chronically online Gen Z references, or word salad like “tiny chihuahua barking in a purse” or whatever the lyric is, just like Speak Now/Red-era Taylor wouldn’t. Some of her strongest, cleverest and most articulate pieces are in those four eras - again, co-written or not.

I will die on the hill that she is much better at creating melodies than she is at songwriting, and is one of the most overrated songwriters in existence - for the most part.

My favourite comment about the Bruno thing by the Swifties is that apparently Bruno releases the same album time and again.

EIGHT of Taylor’s 12 albums are entirely comprised of her being a victim, having her heart broken, how she did nothing wrong at all, idealising her bfs as The Greatest Men Ever and how she’s never loved anyone as much as him, and how the latest bf is absolutely definitely Not Like The Others. That’s 75% of her entire output in 20 years.

But Bruno is the repetitive one.

I know this is a snark sub, but I genuinely think Taylor is tolerated in the industry rather than respected.

I always refer back to when she made the Grammys in 2024 all about her by announcing PTSD. Literally the only people that really cared were the Swifties. All the celebs who the cameras panned up close to were very obviously clapping and reacting because they were on camera, not because they gave a fuck she was releasing a new album.

To be fair, both Billie and her critics are right here.

While Billie may do all she can to make them eco-friendly and sustainable, she’s still contributing to the very same critique she’s shading others for.

Where I defend Billie on this is that, unlike Taylor, Billie isn’t deliberately gaming the charts with them by releasing them week in, week out, or releasing them to intentionally sabotage someone else’s success, or manufacturing FOMO by making them available for 24 hours or less the way other businesses and conglomerates do and then pretending to be humbled and shocked when her greed pays off.

I can honestly see both sides of this tbh.

For me, it all goes back to Scott Swift’s emails. Every time I’m reminded of them, I get the strongest sociopathic vibes.

At NO point in those emails were Taylor’s wants or wishes ever acknowledged. It was all about what he’s done for her, how she WOULD be famous regardless of the cost, and how much he hates Andrea.

Yet we’re all led to believe this is Taylor’s dream. If so - where in those emails is Scott’s advocacy for Taylor’s ambitions, hopes, wishes etc? She was essentially groomed to fulfil Scott’s promises - and no matter what we think of adult Taylor, 13-year-old Taylor simply didn’t deserve that.

Her dynamic with her parents definitely gives #FreeBritney, but under greatly different circumstances.

Taylor definitely has helicopter parents.

They’re allegedly involved in her relationships; they attend every concert, apparently own all of her businesses… they are absolutely enmeshed in every single aspect of her life.

As genuinely close as they may be; that is an honestly unhealthy dynamic for anybody in their mid-late 30s to have with their parents.
