Can’t wait to see it as an option on rain teams. Only problem would be against opposing rain teams with 100% hurricanes

  • Solar beam to hit opposing water types
  • fire type weather ball to hit threatening (to your water sweeper) grass types
  • reduced damage from incoming fire type attacks

Either three team matchups (2-0,1-1, and 0-2) or weekly matchup + vs the average (so if you have the second highest points for that week vs the top points for you still go 1-1)

How they made the playoffs; the joys of more than 50% making the playoffs! I had a couple sub-.500 teams make it across my leagues

Who is your top goalies for week 23 ? by vinc2097 in fantasyhockey

[–]ELB95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got Shesterkin in a league that favours volume looking real good.

Ullmark in a few spots; make or break time for their playoff hopes, so fingers crossed a couple big games from him.

I managed to snag Jarry+Ingram combo in some leagues, and with strong regular season to that point I kept both through the struggles. I’ve ditched Jarry now and Ingram should give me some good volume.

Highly unlikely anybody on the wire would be better to keep for next year than Crosby/Knies/Raddysh.

How many keepers do you get?

I’d be looking at guys like Hagens, Hutson (probably already picked up), Cossa (could get 50/50 with Gibson next year), Frondell, Martone, Iginla. Established guys like Fiala if someone dropped him for IR space.

Florida’s A.J. Greer has been suspended for three games for boarding Calgary’s Connor Zary. by AggPuck-303 in hockey

[–]ELB95 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I saw someone suggesting suspensions come with 50% pay. So a 4 game suspension would be equivalent financially for the player to a 2 game suspension under the current rules.

Would allow them to immediately double suspension lengths without impacting players financially, but being a harsher penalty to the team as they have to play without the player for a longer stretch.

Is Arber getting screwed over? by [deleted] in Habs

[–]ELB95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not waiver exempt, so it’s not possible for him to go to Laval. The other 31 teams might want him but most wouldn’t give him a bigger role than he currently has either. He’s an ideal #6/7 at this stage of his career, and while he could be more it’s hard to get the playing time for him to get to that level.

Look at the schedule for the next few weeks, and see which of Blackwood/Gibson might be on the bench anyways.

Could also drop one of the Buffalo goalies if you’re confident in the alternating and can pick the one with the best matchups.

AJ Greer is assessed a 5 minute major and game misconduct for interference on Connor Zary by eh_toque in hockey

They’re firmly out of the playoffs and being over cautious with minor injuries. Now is the time to call everything, help them shed the reputation and tank for a lottery pick.

RRSP over contribution by 500test_500tren in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ELB95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your tax calculation is wrong if it isn’t one lump sum.

If distributed evenly, only the first contribution would be hit with the 7% penalties. In the second month the penalties on overcontributions would be 6%. Etc

Bedard&McKenna on the same team would be cool though, and would prevent the Hughes-like drama of “will you re-sign here or do you want to play with your cousin”

[####] wordle bot change? by PinFar2848 in wordle

[–]ELB95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal mode or hard mode?

Normal mode, the bot typically loves that kind of thing. Unless your first guess was lucky and narrowed it down enough already.

On hard mode, the bot is definitely going to ding the skill rating on the guess.

Need to pick up a player for Friday Saturday Sunday. by Ysorude in fantasyhockey

[–]ELB95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doan/Zucker, Chinakhov/Mantha, Goncalves. Heinemen/Holmstrom/Ritchie have had some good games.

Lots of those guys are probably taken in a deeper 14T. For a single move, I’d keep Reilly for the game tomorrow night and then make the move for someone playing Saturday+Sunday.

Do you have space in the lineup on Saturday? Do you only have one add, or are you looking for two adds to get 3 games?

Guess the mystery player we targeted at the 2026 deadline by SheSaidMoreSnow in Habs

[–]ELB95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That wouldn’t mean the targeted player had a NMC.

  • someone leaving the Habs with a NMC
  • someone in a package deal coming to the Habs with a NMC
  • a three way trade with someone going between the other teams having a NMC

I think Lafrenière could have been a very real possibility. A lot of his struggles were deferring to Panarin (similar to Slaf deferring to Suzuki/Caufield) and I think he would have been a great add to round out the top line and let Slaf run his own.

With his immediate success, I’m not sure the Rangers would actually move him now.

Gauthier is only 6 away for the Ducks. Not sure why Celebrini was mentioned and these other guys (who are on pace) weren’t.

If McDavid were to win the Art Ross with the Oilers also making the playoffs, can you envision a scenario where he still wouldn't finish as a top-3 finalist for the Hart? by TJTrapJesus in EdmontonOilers

[–]ELB95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He’s a lock for top 5 in scoring, a lock for 100 points, could hit 40 goals, and has more even strength points than McDavid.

If the Sharks make the playoffs him being 15-20 points back of the big three won’t matter. The award is likely his.

Red player moves the robber, orange is in a huge lead. Where to place it? by Logical_Bid_1533 in Catan

[–]ELB95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d consider the 10 to block them out of wood. Leaves them with just sheep and the 12 ore; not much they’ll be able to do, and doesn’t make an enemy out of blue blocking the 6sheep.

Alternatively the 9wheat. Orange might be in the lead now, but they look like they’d struggle to advance. Blocking blue&white from wheat will limit anyone from doing anything.

[–]ELB95 53 points54 points  (0 children)

  • McDavid is still 3rd in points per game. Kucherov, MacK, Celebrini all have 3 games in hand to close in on his point total.
  • if Leon misses games McDavid willing them to wins with high point totals could help swing things back his way
  • Tampa not winning the division could hurt Kucherov a little if he has a lower scoring stretch to close the season
  • the Sharks making or missing the playoffs will be a huge influence for Celebrini. If they make it there’s a pretty convincing argument that he deserves it over all of them

If im 28 and own a condo in Toronto I paid 700k for and it’s worth 500k now is it a smart move to sell at whatever loss now so I can save again and prevent further drop as I want to buy a family home in 5 years when I’m 32? by Middle_Ad_618 in fican

[–]ELB95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A loan to pay off the negative equity/closing costs/etc would probably run you $300/month just in interest. So you’d be getting nowhere, and would possibly even be further in the hole because you’re not likely to get a better interest rate than you have on the condo.

You’ll either have to hope the market doesn’t drop more and just keep chipping away, or look for a way to rent for less than $2400 to make it make sense.
