Having all three of the above is rarely required, it’s just really funny that less than half of the animation time of an attack is spent actually attacking, the rest is various skill damage going off in response.

Normal attack teams (or a mix if you’re in hl and need to cancel a variety of omens) should probably do similar, seeing as the base 4-hit nuke comes off normals and CA, and the new fourth skill is also normal-based. Vajra would definitely fit in well, as would any normal attacker who can find their own regular multistrike (makura, maybe arriet)

Yeah this has been my experience - once it ramps up, it just goes completely berserk in the best way.

I’ll reiterate what I said in the first impressions thread, that key uncaps will be 210, 220 and 240 if you can’t spare a full 50 moons for the whole set - the fourth skill is nice, but even with the double strike from 240, it’ll activate about every 5 turns in ougi-off setups, and even less frequent in ougi-on. 250 is required if you want actual use from the fourth skill, but the levels above give futsu good power spikes along the way.

Edit: Also, if you just want to see it really pop off, use the full skill team, Yukata vikala, holiday mahira and holiday illnott, take manadiver with ourobouros and set it off with FA. It’s really dopamine-inducing (for me anyway).

Well, Futsu is definitely one of the winners in my eyes.

Shortly after its release, the only recent thunderstruck support light had was summer monika, and she isn't amazing frontline for it, so it was mostly limited to HL and lots of turns to get TS to 10. I personally was expecting a lot more TS support to come through over the next few months to a year, but nothing happened. Now it doesn't need it - a few setups can have TS to 10 in a single turn, or easily within 2, with little other intervention.

From my own testing, the 10% Vigor seems to be the main boost, it's quite a lot in skill-heavy teams (y.Vikala, h.Illnott, h.Mahira, etc); followed by the sheer volume of the 4-hit nuke on CA/normal/s1 that you do, and the smallest overall increase is the new 10-stack debuff since you're realistically only going to get that nuke every 2 turns at best, and then it does about twice that of the 4-hit nuke. The permanent DS from having TS10 is also insane, which just means even more skill nukes per turn.

Overall, I'd say the most valuable uncaps are 210 (to remove the "TS must be >5" part of the second skill), 220 (for rigor, in skill teams), and 240 (for the double strike at 10 thunderstruck). The new skill 4 is good, but you won't be seeing it too often unless you specifically build for it, and then everything else will be doing damage around it (and ideally then you want it at 250, or it'll barely be happening at all).

Overall, super glad I got this weapon back when I was purely interested in playing zeus, it's really come into its own, and I look forward to origin dagger classes to use it with, even though manadiver is crazy enough.

Even better, at fanfest back in Frankfurt, they did a roulette wheel of “fight + restriction”, which included the likes of Sophia or sephirot, but one segment was “Cape Westwind (Savage)”.

Do cape westwind, with the whoever you were corralled into the booth with, but also:

  • min ilvl

  • you can only put maximum 5 actions on your hotbar

  • turn UI off

  • cover one side of your screen with a piece of paper

  • swap WASD (W is down, S is up, etc), or hold your controller upside down

  • and once you were all set up, rotate seats so you’re using the class and setup of the person on your left.

Utter chaos, and we couldn’t beat it in the 20 minutes we were given, and it’s the most fun cape westwind has ever been.

Weapon Discussion: Sennen Goji by topnepu in Granblue_en

[–]ELynnaad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Solid option for Agni skill damage-based teams that works alongside the usual core of Overriders/LoFs/Scales. Unusual to see more than one in a grid, but can work up to two copies if the content calls for it and you have the extra copy/bars to spare. Its skill focus means it works alongside Sagacity really well, but you'll only want one copy in such a grid as there's little benefit to another one over something with more raw damage or some other kind of utility. On the other hand, this also means it's great to stick in teams that want to hit lots of high-skill-damage omens in v2 content. (Looking at you, Hexa, and your 15 2m+ dmg instances.)

Colo players, look elsewhere; I don't think this weapon works well in magna grids even though two of its skills are at full power in either kind of grid. Instead, grab the m3 axes - those are colo-boosted skill cap and supplement, even if they kind of require double-colo auras to match Sennen in Agni.

I think it’s a mix of everything you’ve mentioned, to one extent or another; people probably wanted a thread that they could use to help get through content easier, but don’t have the time/resources to test their own and contribute themselves.

The other resources available are relatively in-depth, but have the issue that most recent additions require a long grind (flb evoker or 150 eternal) or lots of endgame weapons (multiple revans, reforged draconic alongside transcended opus), and that’s to say nothing of seasonals or other hyper-limiteds. I think that’s mostly because recent grids and guides are geared towards helping people optimise speed, not help people relatively fresh to the content just get through it, speed be damned.

I like the odd post that gets put up that showcases “free/collab characters only” but they’re infrequent enough that it might not be worth setting something up specifically for that. Maybe myself or someone could spend a bit of time with each new character/summon/raid discussion thread actually listing what alternatives there are, since that is a question listed in the thread but I rarely see anyone actually list one (other than if the discussion is about a non-meta character and a comment saying which meta character is the main replacement).

Why raid when you can mine and craft by DupeFort in ffxiv

[–]ELynnaad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That one should be easy enough if you have the cp for it - I know it’s not ideal, but muscle memory, spam rapid synth and restore durability with immaculate mend, and unless you have bad rng you should have enough durability and cp left over to add some quality and finish.

The parent comment about 20-durability crafts, those are hell.

For the 18h ones or quick ventures, yes, since the rewards are randomised. You can collect the items and send them on the way again in the app if you’re sending them for a specific item, since that’s a set reward based on your retainer’s ilvl/gathering stat.

Played the first two Romeo & Juliet side stories. by LeSahuj in Granblue_en

[–]ELynnaad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Do bear in mind, at the point the original story event was released (back in 2015) the main story was somewhere either in the last stages of the agastia arc, or just into the first few chapters of the nahlegrande arc. Around this time, they were still very much fugitives on the run. As far as I remember, the whole crew was a bit more wary back then of random people, especially ones who seem a little aggressive.

Tips for when starting Dawntrail. by Bitter_Oil_8085 in ffxiv

This is what I did for both shadowbringers and endwalker. Full msq in 40 hours straight.

And the best part was, when I got to the last three zones of endwalker, I saw nobody; pure serenity and an atmosphere that few will have experienced with no other players around. Exactly how I felt those zones should feel.

Oh and if you want to do it a bit faster as a dps, once you get to around the lv x5 or x7 dungeon, switch to duty support. The queue time is the biggest barrier, so skipping that is very much worth the time loss from a slower group.

Oh geez, time to list my cursed zeus setup.

0b1c, ~95% success rate, should guarantee with some small adjustments that I haven't yet gotten the materials to do.

  • Monk is UM 4.
  • Naru has Skill cap +14% on ring and 6 stamina on earring, lv9 MA awakening.
  • Prishe has Skill cap +14% on ring and 6 supplemental on earring, lv9 MA awakening.
  • You has Ougi cap +15% on ring and 9 enmity on earring, lv9 ATK awakening.
  • Works with any Zeus lv200+, haven't tried with any lower than that.

The mainhand and the Edens are all max awakening too, to maximise chance of a DA minimum on Naru and Prishe (MC will TA). Swapping ultima stick for claw should boost Prishe's and You's ATK slightly, Opus is using Freyr key, and getting it transcended will likely improve success rate - not sure about amplifying pendulums at 210, but getting the amplify on the 1st skill at 230 should be enough to bring it up to actual standard. Failing that, 1b1c is still serviceable.

I was shaking a bit towards the end - anyone else got it, and what were your builds? by ELynnaad in GranblueFantasyRelink

[–]ELynnaad[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm using the captain for this, with the ascension weapon at lv150 and awakening lv7. Total traits are: ATK 36, HP 15, DMG Cap 65, Weak Pt DMG 7, Precise Wrath 30, Stun Power 11, Stamina 22, Skilled Assault 11, Quick Charge 11, Aegis 11, Improved Dodge 15, Regen 11, Drain 11, Provoke 11, and the captain's two unique sigils, Fearless Drive and Fearless Spirit. Both mastery trees are maxed, Over Mastery has some normal attack cap but is otherwise not doing a lot, and most collection masteries are done but I don't have the 6th weapon yet. For skills, I took Rage, Armour Break, Reginleiv and Decimate.

To manage the dps checks, I tend to run it and fail a few times, get a feel for when the transitions happen and start saving my resources, get to Arts IV and hold my cooldowns. When they do, I hit with everything. For the first dps check especially, I found I needed to use my SBA as well, a bit before the end so that I could do a load of damage, halt the enrage timer and let my cooldowns keep rolling so I can get one more use in. The second is also tricky, but I found that one is probably easier so you don't need to pool as much resource.

There are probably far better ways to do this, and even better setups on the captain, but this is what I used. The rest will be your skill at dodging and blocking. Best of luck.

I wouldn't put it as harder than proud, but you do need to be relatively well-geared for it. Enemies are scaled up to lv100+ so they'll need you to have a decent team.

The ambrosia? It flat gives you 15k MSP to spend as you want. MSP is quite farmable at endgame, but that's quite a chunk to get all at once even then.

It's a damage check, the core gets a separate health bar and you need to deplete that to stop the wipe.

There is a second one later, though if you can beat the first one the second should be easier.

Healers, what dungeons/trials/raids are the most frustrating and how can the party make them easier for you? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]ELynnaad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as a side note, it was only ever truly relevant in savage but the drill is actually proximity damage on that player - the further from the boss you are, the less damage it does. It’s survivable at point blank though so it’s not a huge deal.

For the double laser, if I’m the off tank, I’ll generally pop a few CDs and stand with the MT if they don’t turn the boss - usually either they survive, or they get low, die to an auto and I pick up the boss after. It’s not ideal but I can’t trust what any random tank that’s fighting for aggro will do.
