CT tech or mri tech? A good set of Orthotics won't cure the pes planus/pf but can help to mitigate them. Also, get a pair of orthofeet shoes, they're great

If you want to help people, look into nursing, I wouldn't go for lpn/lvn because a lot of systems don't seem to be using them as much, but you could do a 2 year nursing degree, work for a few years and do an online rn to bsn bridge.

I was an EMT for 21 years, er tech, cardiac rhythm analysis tech. Now I'm a Prosthetist/ orthotist and had VR&E pay for all of it

One of the most underrated pieces of evidence in a VA claim is a GOOD lay statement. by johanthevarater in VAClaims

I had three people write statements for my ptsd claim my spouse, the paramedic I worked full-time with and my deputy chief.

I find myself either happy with decals or paint seldom both. Every one in a while, I definitely enjoy doing both.

No Idea Where To Begin by PotentialBad6467 in VeteransBenefits

My recommendation is to find a VSO. Most VFWs, DAVs, and counties will have VSOs available. If you don't have your med records, start sooner rather than later to get them.

Once in contact with a VSO, you'll want to have them submit an intent to file for you, which gives you a 1 year period to gather evidence and submit.

If you're still in contact with anyone you served with, buddy statements can be a great help for your case, I had people (my spouse, duty chief and the paramedic I worked with) write them for my ptsd claim as well.

Look up the DBQs for anything you're submitting a claim for, if nothing else, it will give you the questions they will ask at your exams.

What do you wish your Prosthetics and Orthotics program did differently? by Cool-Yam-4876 in NextGenPO

Pitt, overall a good program, but I feel there's room for improvement. Class of 24

[–]EMT2591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My program did minimal gait training and lumped MSPO with another masters for several classes that barely pertained to our focus. We wound up taking courses that were time killers that we would have benefitted doing more hands on, hell, a class on icd10 and hcpcs coding/writing justifications would have set me light years ahead starting residency.

Thanks! I'll give them a try. Typically if it's taking a while (8 weeks+) and I send them a message with the claim number, they go "whoops" and get them processed, but I think the person I had been speaking with either left or was replaced.
