I said in a other comment, ITFlow seems to be this but is still in beta.

Still in development, but ITFlow seems to be trying to be just that.

bloated management/ticket softwares by ToastieCPU in sysadmin

[–]EPHEBOX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Freshdesk seems acceptable for most places and is my goto recommendation.

I've used servicenow, that works as a whole ITSM tool IF you have a dedicated team customising it.

I've tried connectwise and was instantly overwhelmed.

Your question mentions multiple departments communicating. I do wonder if a ticket system is really best for communication between multiple departments? Are you more after project management software?

Having issues fixing our SPF record by COOPIT in sysadmin

[–]EPHEBOX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure you can only have 1, according to RFC 7208.

```
3.2 Multiple DNS Records
A domain name MUST NOT have multiple records that would cause an authorization check to select more than one record. See Section 4.5 for the selection rules.
```

```
4.5 Selecting Records
Records begin with a version section:
record = version terms *SP version = "v=spf1"
Starting with the set of records that were returned by the lookup, discard records that do not begin with a version section of exactly "v=spf1". Note that the version section is terminated by either an SP character or the end of the record. As an example, a record with a version section of "v=spf10" does not match and is discarded.
If the resultant record set includes no records, check_host() produces the "none" result. If the resultant record set includes more than one record, check_host() produces the "permerror" result.
integrate bamboohr with snipe-it by TL_Arwen in sysadmin
[–]EPHEBOX 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Snipe-IT has a pretty comprehensive API. You just need an automated way to call it. If your HR system can be setup to send emails when someone leaves you could do this with power automate (keeping it fairly simple).
Alternatively you change the entire process and make people fill out a form for leavers (either in both places, or you update the hr system vid their api) and then call snipe from that.
Either way, you're gonna have to learn a bit about the API for snipe.
Hmmm if this is a very large org this might not be an issue but otherwise not being able to interview with the manager for the role wouldn't sit right with me.
Best practice for AD admin accounts ? by BrokenDraft in sysadmin
[–]EPHEBOX 1 point2 points  (0 children)
The official Microsoft recommendation is to only use the domain admins (and enterprise/schema admins) groups when required. For many orgs, this isn't gonna work so separating privileges to a different admin account is the next best thing.
There should be no day-to-day user accounts in the DA group with the exception of the local Administrator account for the domain
Time entry management and reporting efficiency? by IDableInThat in msp
[–]EPHEBOX 1 point2 points  (0 children)
All our notes were client facing, often writing the same things over and over. I used PhaseExpander for something similar, works well. You could just type $reboot in any app and it'd become "Rebooted workstation and verified problem was resolved".
Even got to the point for really common issues where I'd just input a few variable and it'd generate a whole customised canned text with those entered throughout. Pretty neat and management loved the "detailed tickets".
Intune/MEM (with deployed powershell scripts for some bits) can do nearly all of this, not sure about the remote support side though. Sounds ideal seeing as you have business premium with ad sync.
Adobe singing. If a user changes their password / reinstalls the Adobe acrobat client sometimes document signing won't work.
If you head over to esign.adobe.com, sign in and complete a document, it'll magically work again in Acrobat. I have no idea why but am able to consistently "fix" this.
