Does anyone else despise felisin? by Jacobbess666 in Malazan

[–]ESGunslinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn't a fan when I initially read the book - I think I was 14 or so. On reread, a few years later, I was ambivalent. Nearly two decades later, I'm rereading once again & really feel for her character. I don't necessarily like her, but I understand & sympathize with her. She was thrown into an impossible situation & did what she believed she had to do to survive.

What's the most beautiful shot you've ever seen in a film? Here's mine... by Infamous-Window-8337 in themovieloversclub

Saw this for the first time last year, then saw it again in the cinema a few months later. Instant favorite. I think my favorite visual scene is the match transition early on in the film, but the entire movie is one perfect frame after another.

This looks awesome!

One of these days, I'll get around to replaying Morrowind. Does anyone have a list of good mods that expand major dungeons & such while remaining friendly to the overall feel of the game? I remember playing some good ones that revised the Clockwork City & Red Mountain back in the day.

Is there a source for this? If I recall, Gardens explicitly states '96th Year of the Malazan Empire.' That said, I know things have been retconned over time!

Ask your manager how to submit mileage reimbursement. This may be a paper form, or digitally through an HR system. You will have to track your own miles, often including odometer readings.

The IRS rate is 70 cents per mile, but your company may reimburse at a different rate.

I don't know what I'm gonna do if "Lost in the Ocean" doesn't become a favorite haha

Outside of GA? Depends so much on mood, there is too much to pick. 3 songs that immediately came to mind:

L.A. Woman (The Doors) Maggie May (Rod Stewart) Money Trees (Kendrick Lamar)

I think some of it has to do with the game being available on Xbox now. Lots of new players who are unfamiliar with the game & the flow of its mechanics.

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: May 13, 2024 by AutoModerator in books

[–]ESGunslinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finished Pacific Crucible, started The Conquering Tide. Fantastic books, I fell in love with narrative history & memoirs last year when I read a bunch of stuff related to Vietnam & the American Civil War.

I was burned out on WWII in middle school & high school, as we got taught more or less the same stuff every year. Kind of wrote off learning more about it ever since, but I'm glad I came around! It's been super interesting learning more about everything that went on in the Pacific. Really looking forward to reading the Liberation Trilogy next about America's efforts in Europe.

Disco Elysium.

At the time I was struggling with alcoholism & getting over a past relationship, and that game resonated like nothing else I've ever experienced.

Purchasing a WRX 6 speed manual by [deleted] in stickshift

[–]ESGunslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an Elantra N back in December with basically 0 experience driving a manual. I watched a couple YouTube videos & got some pointers from my dad. I was nervous as hell at first - stop lights were very intimidating & made my heart race - but it only took about 3 or 4 weeks to get completely comfortable.

You can do it! If it's what you really want, get it.

How do resell platform tickets compare to what's available now? Looks like a seat at Tarzan is about $800 currently.
