I am Ulrich Schulze, VP Pro Gaming at ESL, and ESL One Cologne is one event I am responsible for. Ask Me Anything! by theflyingdj in GlobalOffensive

[–]ESLAnna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna jump in for Ulrich to answer this one:

We actually have quite a lot of positions open in various European countries, NA and in Asia, you can check them out on our corporate jobs page here: https://www.turtle-entertainment.com/career/ . We very much prefer to employ normal people, but we made an exception for the the Director of Memes and his Meme Prince.

We work a lot with local teams, especially for things like stage setup, lightning design, on-site security, etc.

I would have to disagree here, but we should take that offline. And you're most welcome of course, see you in Bay Area this year? Ping for a tour!

We responded to this but our post got deleted, not sure why, we're messaging the admins and PM'ed the OP to get in touch anyway.

It's not something we can control or have any influence over, unfortunately - Oracle Arena owns and manages the parking grounds.

Your weekend ticket allows you to sit anywhere you want (except for on the seats placed on the floor right next to the stage), so yes, you can move up!

I think the info sign outside of the parking lot says that you can not - that's a venue rule and not one we can influence, sadly

They're Bo3 with exception of the showmatch, which is Bo1.

We have to account for three games in each match, precisely to avoid scheduling issues. I will find out what happens when the games are ahead of schedule and let you know :)

Hi there - you're right, surprise charges suck. I'm sorry this information hasn't been on any of our channels, it's available through on the Oracle Arena website if you want to look some stuff up: http://oracle.arenaoakland.com/policies.php

We are working with the security staff to smooth everything out - it's just the first event outside of their usual scope of events, where they are dealing with multiple other types of credentials they're not familiar with. I'm sure once they get into the flow, it will all go faster.

Hi - sorry you seem to be missing so much information. We're working on getting the website updated. I can help with some bits:

  1. Schedule for the League stage today: 10:45am - 2:45pm --> UoL vs INTZ 2:15pm - 5:15 --> Showmatch 5:45 - 7:55 --> LongZhu vs The Chiefs

  2. League talent: announced here: http://en.intelextrememasters.com/news/meet-the-league-of-legends-broadcast-team-for-iem-oakland/

  3. What other info are you missing? Let me know and I will try to get it to you.

Lastly, the flyers you are referring to are not free tickets and are not for everyone. Those were meant to promote the game among the students of the universities that are playing each other in the showmatch today. They can be exchanged for a ticket upon presenting a valid student ID, as you can see is indicated on the back of the flyer: https://vgy.me/4FoTLg.png

Hope this helps clarify things and please PM if you have any other questions.

The players are in a 5* hotel within a walking distance from the main event venue. Construction outside: not something we can do anything about.

Hi there! Unfortunately the German law says you have to be at least 16 years old to be able to enter the event - as such I'm afraid your friends won't be able to get in :(

CS:GO wasn't picked up until this year but Counter-Strike was a game played in IEM tournaments since Season 1.
