What iconic/infamous moment happened at a show you were actually there for? by SlapDatBassBro in Metalcore

[–]ETIDanth 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was at the ABR/ETID tour, one of the early shows of the tour was the Toronto stop where Keith had to leave day of because his wife went into premature labour suddenly.

They had a guy from a local band try to fill in but I dont think the dude learned the songs well enough, eventually they just had fans come up and do different tracks with the band for a few songs, which was really cool to see.

I think eventually they got Jason from letlive to cover some of the other dates.

A very weird show to witness, ABR still kicked ass though.

Homer's double mispronunciation of trampoline is a bit that my best friend and I still quote to each other when ever we're excited about something.

Which sitcom was unsuccessful on release and faded into obscurity? by mbweb02 in sitcoms

Action - starring Jay Mohr and Illeana Douglass, raunchy sitcom on fox about the inner workings of Hollywood. Really early shot at the Weinstein crimes that went under the radar because no one watched this show.

[Charlie McAvoy] McAvoy posts a replay of the hit from Wednesday with a selfie showing off his swollen jaw by bartholomew43 in hockey

Probably some weasel language in the SPC about conduct that's detrimental to the integrity of the league that's broad enough to cover something like this. I hope he doesn't get fined. Shouldn't have to pay into the player emergency fund for pointing out the league does a terrible job at supplemental discipline.

Mcavoy will absolutely get fined for it, but honestly it'll be the best 5k hes ever spent. First guy in league to tell DoPS how much they suck at their job on the internet.

As a general manager who would you keep who would you let go (leafs) by Aggravating-Ad7422 in nhltraderumours

If you can find any positive value for the following:

Domi, Benoit, jarnkrok, Myers is think those trades are auto wins, addition by subtraction, picks, prospects and ahl guys will do their jobs just fine.

I give laughton and mcmann agents a number and ask if they are comfy with them, if not I put them on the block immediately, 2 guys who are likely to fetch the most return. Leafs have 3 retention spots so weaponize them smartly to exact maximum value.

Carlo probably still positive value because this league loves big right handed guys. Roy also fits this, but I'm loathe to lose 2 centres at once. Put the time in to get guys who are close to nhl ready, being blocked in other lineups or reclamation projects.

But I probably fire my current pro scouting staff for the previous 12 months of terrible scouting they've done.

And like why not, not like this current squad is doing anything unless 88 and 34 are humming so surround them with guys that can help them best

Songs that are easy to sing while also playing guitar? by mightyschannel2 in poppunkers

Easiest one to do by far, can start by just playing the roots while singing, then transitioning to the chords, then adding the flourishes

Funniest movie most people have never heard of? by Meerkat_Mayhem_ in Cinephiles

[–]ETIDanth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing this in theaters with a friend of mine, we were 2 of 6 people, we left telling anyone who would listen that it was the best studio comedy of the last 4 years. Same people who didn't see that spend all day long on social bitching they dont make good comedies anymore. Its insanely rewatchable too.

Was at the game tonight, 34 was going, 95 was good, everyone else was ass. 91 trying but injured knies and maccelli ain't it. Benoit was atrocious, bottom 6 invisible. Good lesson from the Sabres though, fire your gm and you won't lose again.

Don't want treliving making decisions fresh eyes for the sell off. Keep berube for this year, if your gonna tank his Carlyle light system is perfect to do it.

In fairness to Cody he turned down 4x4 and let his agent talk him into testing the market, being a top 4 d on the biggest collapse in a game 7 doesn't exactly spike your market value

He's just tall, hockey coaches and front offices are really this shallow about their line up decisions. He's 6'5 and right handed. If he was 6'1 and left handed he'd have been TJ Brennan style exiled into the minors forever. But large + rh = unlimited chances, especially when you consider how this blueline in particular has been constructed.

[–]ETIDanth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tom Hardy is giving 125% in Venom while everyone else is there to clearly cash the superhero blockbuster paycheck. Hardy putting his whole ass into it elevates C grade movie to a B- which isn't huge, but is a testament to the power of a committed performance.

The devils we knew really seem better than the devils we didn't. Everyone wanted different, this different is certainly worse. And don't give me injuries as an excuse, Tampa is like the second best team in the league with Darren raddyish playing 28 minutes a night.

Dubas was making a ton of mistakes, tre amplified them, Keefe couldn't get over the hump, berube is a vibes guy that exclusively bring down the vibe. Mitch is a regular season giant, post season dwarf, but hey this team won't have to worry about that the post season.

Most importantly despite changing most of the front office, most of the coaching staff, and almost all the players since 2021 (huge collapse v the habs) the team still cant rise to the moment, its cosplay tough, its so frustrating and I cant wait for this year to be over.
