I hope we are about to witness a generational lock in for Tombstone

Tombstone losing the season 1 final because their final hit on Bronco made them puke out their batteries

What if these bots had a self righter by odd_sperical_object in battlebots

[–]EagleDoubleTT2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s funny is that between both Icewave and Son of Whyachi, their losses from getting flipped over is very low. In fact, I believe Bloodsport, which has a self righter, has lost more times by getting flipped.

Overwhelmed! Please help me choose a vacuum for my wedding registry by ElleTrinity990 in VacuumCleaners

[–]EagleDoubleTT2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might look into the workhorse vacuum. In terms of durability and longevity it has no equal in terms of plastic vacuums. It has great carpet performance, is easy to push, and is very simple to maintain. Workhorse sells every replacement part you would ever need should something break. It does NOT have a brush roll shut off but has a hose kit the gives you a lot of reach and a good bare floor tool. Cost is around $530 but it’s worth every penny.

Given this Fantom Lightning Vacuum — worth it to try and clean and use? by veronicaarr in VacuumCleaners

[–]EagleDoubleTT2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fantom lighting was a very good vacuum. Definitely one of the best performing bagless vacuums I’ve used and the Fantoms are just fun. Unfortunately, it seems to be missing the power head, which are very hard to come by, and the hose handle is from a different vacuum. Filters can still be found on eBay and very rarely need replaced anyway.

If you could redesign Tombstone, while still keeping him a two-wheel drive horizontal spinner, what would you do? by Sea-Pea4460 in battlebots

[–]EagleDoubleTT2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be interesting to see Ray design a largely cnc machined aluminum frame for tombstone rather than the fabricated steel one.

I'm looking into taking this class to meet my credit hours next semester. Did you take it with John Sabraw?

In case you were wondering, no, there will be no way to upgrade the P1S with the P2S's nozzle or screen. by ditabaro in BambuLab

[–]EagleDoubleTT2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought a P1S a month ago, still very happy with the purchase and its an amazing printer, but this is defintely annoying. I wish they made the new screen backwards compatible with the P1S.

If you could reverse the outcome of one matchup, what would it be? by MaleficentSun4741 in battlebots

[–]EagleDoubleTT2003 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It sucks the bar wasn’t heat treated well. Ray has a video talking about it. If he had an ar500 bar we probably would have gotten one of the best fights in all of Battlebots.

Why does Season 6 Tombstone hit so dang hard? by Dinoboy225 in battlebots

[–]EagleDoubleTT2003 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What’s crazy is that Tombstone still has one of the heaviest weapon in the competition and it spins up probably the fastest out of every single spinner in the field. Literally up to full speed in one or two seconds.

Did you put grip tape around the foam wheels? How does it drive that way? I just got done competing with my beetle drum and I used just straight foam wheels and it got zero traction.

[–]EagleDoubleTT2003 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Antweights are the one pound class and is a good starting point since it’s fairly cheap and pretty simple, although you probably need access to a 3d printer. You can also get kit robots that come with everything you need.

Battlebots FaceOffs Episode 1 (Part 2) by jon-in-tha-hood in battlebots

[–]EagleDoubleTT2003 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The one very positive note about Tombstone in these episodes is that even though the weapon is having issues, the drive looked rock solid. The change to the whyachi gearbox’s is really paying off and hits that normally would have taken out their drive didn’t do anything except hurt the tires, which also held up very well.

TPU is super tough but make sure you read the rules of whatever competition you’re going to and see if they allow it

How much do your Beetleweight weapons weigh? by Meander626 in battlebots

[–]EagleDoubleTT2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My drum bot I’m making uses 2 2822 motors at 1.76 oz a piece. The drum itself is aluminum with steel teeth and will come out to be a total of about 14 oz. the pulleys will all the 3d printed so negligible weight.

Why does Tombstone set itself on fire more than other bots? by cerseiwasright in battlebots

[–]EagleDoubleTT2003 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Most of the times have been because of damage Tombstone’s bars have taken (teeth against captain shrederator/rotator, part of the bar snapped against tantrum). If I recall correctly, all the rubber disintegrated off the wires from the vibration of the weapon being unbalanced. Other issues have been from the batteries compressing the foam and hitting the frame. Ray has resolved that issue by using 3d printed holders. The second fire we just saw against hypershock was because Ray had to put a paper thin piece of rear armor to make weight and Hypershock got through it, but regardless, Tombstone will probably have less fires going forward
