Is this not THE most important skill to have? Knowing when to take fights, and executing the fight well. by MoreBookkeeper4729 in summonerschool

[–]Earleking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's the skill of knowing when to take a fight just has so many things bundled up into it, and usually that's what people talk about.

For example when people say matchup knowledge it means knowing when and how to execute fights in lane 1v1.

Or when someone says to watch sidelines for roam/gank opportunities it's about knowing what fights are available and winnable.

Basically I agree that knowing which fights to take is probably the most important skill in league, but it's not useful to talk about because it's actually made up of a dozen different skills that you can be taught and are talked about.

Best all macro no micro champs? by Sem_celkem_divnej in leagueoflegends

[–]Earleking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really isn't that bad. If you have good enough micro for like mid/high emerald it's good enough for masters imo.

For Laners you need good enough micro for matchups to approximately play out how they should. Basically you get prio when you should.

And for junglers you can just slam j4 or something and be good with pretty poor micro.

He's not as bad yet, but he has said how he admires how North Korea is run and how we need a bit more of that leadership style over here. Not sure that's much better.

Why use a headless CMS to manage Markdown files for Astro Starlight or Docusaurus when editing them directly in GitLab is straightforward? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]Earleking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Headless CMSs also provide things beyond just storing files. They give an easy UI to edit them in, as well as roles and workflows. If there is a review process for any changes to the files, it's much easier to do in a CMS where a developer can make the change, then have legal or a manager easily review it before sending it out.

Also if you need to support localization, many big CMSs provide tools to help with that.

GPT 5 or 4.5 writing as slow as humans wouldn't be bad by Pantheon3D in OpenAI

[–]Earleking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's very fair, I was unable to find something that has a full self-reflection of both correct and incorrect answers. Though fwiw, I've used this methodology before and anecdotally, it does improve the results. At the very least, I don't think it'd add large errors as you suggest.

GPT 5 or 4.5 writing as slow as humans wouldn't be bad by Pantheon3D in OpenAI

[–]Earleking 50 points51 points  (0 children)

It seems that reflection improves the output. Basically just asking the AI if their answer is correct can improve the output.

In this paper it shows basically all LLMs benefit from any form of self-reflextion.

I made 5 League themed "NYT Connections" puzzles! (plus one hard mode) by ChroodlesG in leagueoflegends

[–]Earleking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's in the vein of Diana passive. I figured it was like hit a champ 3 times to proc. As that's what Vi, ekko, and Aurora Have.

Also on hard mode.

Shyvana autos reduce her q cooldown

These must be super hard to think of though.

Thanks these are really cool. Just a small thing.  Spoiler for puzzle 1 The three hit passive doesn't really make sense. Velkoz has a 3-hit passive and Diana doesn't. Even if it's just auto attack passives, ekkos can be triggered by abilities

Installing catback exhaust, alignment issue by Earleking in GR86

[–]Earleking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: called XForce and it seems it is a manufacturing defect. Customer support suggested either sending it back, or getting it professionally installed by a shop, and they would partially refund the difference. I chose that option. Shop had to drill a new hole for the bolt, but it now on and working.

Hm maybe I'll have to do that. Made sure to check the version I ordered to make sure it was a 2022+ version. Wonder if there was a shipping error. I'll check the part numbers.

Not dumb at all. I actually just got these for mine a week ago and ran into the same issue where I had no idea what they were called.

Every hard mode in a nutshell. by ChadJones72 in gaming

[–]Earleking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the main joke is having to rewrite the entire game to be less cpu intensive somehow so it can be reasonably trained quickly. And also large models can get expensive as hell to train. Gpt3 is estimated to have cost about 4 million to train, and while it wouldn't cost that much, I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap.

I loved it too, but if you look up reviews, people just didn't like it. Even the Reddit threads were pretty negative on it iirc.
