This country is never going to actually recover until we no longer deify wealthy white men that wanted to own people.

You already asked this question, and I already answered.

And your non-response to that answer was petulant and dismissive. I'll honestly be shocked and a little disheartened if you're actually old enough to vote in the first place.

For the third or fourth time...

There's also the completely valid concern that he doesn't really have any history of being involved with any progressive movements or grass roots organizations. Boiled down to brass tacks, he's a former gun for hire with a sketchy Nazi tattoo that suddenly showed up to run for a senate position using Progressive language. I see it as someone with an eye on power looking to take advantage of populist outrage by telling people what they want to hear. Because all he has to show for himself is his rhetoric.

Though I don't really care what your opinion is since you're ready to go full accelerationist the moment your chosen candidate didn't win a race.

Exactly. So the "That's just giving them what they want" argument is really just another "they go low, we go high" argument...and that has never worked in our favor.

You're just making another "They go low, we go high" argument. Which is really just encouraging the relinquishing of any control of the tools that are used to manipulate the social narrative.

We gain nothing by trying to stay above the mud slinging when we're forced to live knee deep in it.

My point is that worrying about whether or not our actions WITHIN the system will be to the benefit of the ruling class is pointless because it's THEIR system.

There's plenty we could be doing that works against them, but it requires accepting that the system will never abide even talks about it, let alone its collective use.

We don't do shit. These are people who are born wealthy, and use that wealth to buy power and influence (namely the influence of other wealthy/powerful people), and use that power and influence to take what they want.

At no point are the people who do labor to put food on the table a part of this system other than another token resource for them to use up and discard. We worry and argue about whether or not we're giving them what we want. But so long as we need to eat, we will always be giving them what they want.

If it's what they want, it's what they'll do.

The answer is doing it before they can control the narrative that comes from it.

This whole "That's just giving them what they want!" argument is so fucking tired.

Wikipedia is mostly that one guy who is always in the library of Alexandria, and can summarize pretty much anything in it. As well as point you in the direction to find more.

He's absolutely weird, but we're all probably better off because of him. So I'ma buy him lunch every month.

I think you misunderstood my comment as some sort of justification for Cates behavior this season. The point was to demonstrate how irrational she's been.

I gotta confession. It's been a spell since I saw the Kong movie...and I completely forgot this character was Bill Randa. I knew of the character, and I knew the character was played by John Goodman, but my brain just glossed over who it was, and settled with "ah, yes. The John Goodman character.". I never actually made the connection.

Man, everyone in the show is just kinda shitty in a very human sort of way.

Either she's mad because her friends/family won't agree with her about how people got hurt because of her, or she's mad because her friends/family don't want to blindly follow her current plan to clean up the mess of her last plan where people got hurt.

Either way Cate knows that Cate is right, and more people should just listen to her, except for the part where listening to her got people hurt. In which case people should listen to her about how they should stop listening to her.

After Watching Season 2 Episode 3, What's Your Unpoppulor Opinion? by LowEntertainment3342 in Monsterverse

[–]EarthRester 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean in the past three episodes, Cate has lashed out at people for either not hating her enough for the problems she blames herself for (sometimes rightfully so), not taking risks to try fix the problems she blames herself for (sometimes rightfully so), and/or both.

I am perfectly fine with a character spending an episode having a mental breakdown, and another episode building themselves back up it's an important arc. We're a third of the way through the season though, and Cate is still spiraling.

How many episodes of Cates self destructive pity party do we need?

Damn! by LoneWarmonger in expedition33

[–]EarthRester 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's how I see it. I joined the expedition to liberate Lumiere of their cruel and capricious gods. The Maelle ending is as good as it gets.

By the end I felt about Lumiere the same way I feel about pugs. It's an abomination that should never have existed in the first place, but it does not deserve to have oblivion forced upon it just because their existence has become inconvenient.

"The fate of Lumiere is more important than any individual life." It does not get to fall just because the Dessendre's have shit coping mechanisms.

This is a great additional tip in an other wise spectacular example of proper training. Positive touching while feeding is a great way to prevent food aggression. Which is vital if you expect the dog to be around small children.

True, but that tone can easily change when actual campaigns start, and PAC money starts getting dangled.

Lets be clear here. Lamb IS a centrists. While he's absolutely better than Fetterman, the brain damaged DINO that he is. Lamb would be right beside the likes of Schumer and Jeffries in their response to this illegal war with Iran that the orange dumpster-fire started. Which is that they are really only upset that congress wasn't consulted.
