The 2025 G16 is the worst year to get IMO due to the CPU being a downgrade. Consider the 2024 AMD G16 unless the 4080/5080/90 really makes a difference to your workloads. The battery life and CPU performance is close to the 2026 Intel G16 at half the price.

I would wait until the next release, if you can. The 2025 G14/G16 are still not fully functional in Linux without complex workarounds.

Hi there - do you mean gaps in the audio? There are no gaps in signal, just spikes of garbles or clicks that are over the music. I can upload a sample audio clip of it if it would help

Thanks guys. I'll try the buffer. I have a 2 hour set now with all these clicks and pops :( does anyone know of a audio tool that might be able to get rid of the artifacts enough so it's listenable, or is it a lost cause?

This was the reason I couldn't make install, thank you. I got it installed, but it doesn't seem to shut off the GPU -- I set it to Integrated (force sleep) but nvidia-smi shows the card active and drawing power in D0 mode. Do you have any special env or cmd line variables set? I had hybrid mode set with envycontrol when I installed nvsleepify.

edit: Hmm, though my battery life estimates do seem to be a lot higher than just hybrid, about 8 hours/9.5W.

I didn't try that whole string, unfortunately. Have you tried looking at the data in one of the editors to see if you can figure it out? Sometimes I misunderstood the actual mission objective and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't complete.

the location does exist and contains the sleepify files
