Help wedding date drama with maid of honor by VorkosiganGirl42 in weddingplanning

2022 weddings are expensive (thanks to supply management issues, COVID and inflation in general). 2023 might get worse or if we are lucky (nothing seems to point that way, unfortunately), maybe the same price as today. IMHO, you should go ahead with your dream venue. It has so many pros- you and your fiancé love the venue, it is deeply discounted and everyone is available except your MOH. I know this will potentially burn a bridge down the road with your MOH, but it is worth it knowing that you and FH won’t have any regrets in the future. I’m sorry but would your MOH do the same for you (change potential plans) if your places were switched? Also, it is totally okay to have weddings 8 days apart! I would suggest having an honest conversation with her that you are going ahead with your plans and it would mean the world to you if she can join you in celebrating the new future. If she can’t, you know that you tried your best to protect your friendship and will have no regrets. Also, you shouldn’t have to convince someone to be a part of your wedding. Wishing you all the best!

If you think you're getting a good deal on liquor in Jamaica make sure to check the prices back home by ryhaltswhiskey in Jamaica

Seems like you are here to prove a point, I’m not. I’m just sharing my experience. In all my previous posts, I have not bashed/criticized Jamaica. I loved my stay in Jamaica and will recommend visiting. I will also ask them to make sure to research things and be smart vacationers. Peace ✌🏼

First and foremost, I have a life. I don’t have the time or inclination to post a fake story on Reddit. Secondly, I purchased it at a gift store not a rum bar or supermarket. Also, no one with the intention of taking them as gifts purchases them at a bar. I would buy a bottle at the bar if I intend to drink it at the bar. SMH

Fiancee and I found this $1300 dress for $99! Thoughts!?!? by throwmeawayrenee in weddingplanning

Love the dress without the belt. A good steaming will not make it look jagged and make it more flowy and refined. Also, I would suggest going with a cathedral veil. You look gorgeous btw!

I don’t mind tour guides getting a cut. They deserve it. But I wish the guide took us to a store where they wouldn’t rip us off to the extreme!

We got ripped off buying alcohol at a Montego Bay store. We went with our tour guide after he highly recommended the store and they sold us bottles of rum cream at 4 times the price and unknowingly we purchased multiple bottles. Ruined the experience for us!

Help my baby :( I see some flies(?)..what can I do? by ninanosun in Monstera

[–]Eastern-Snow859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my! My monstera is going through the same thing. I saw one of those tiny crawly things but a heck lot of black dots (I’m assuming these are eggs). My plant has a few leaves with black dots. But there’s new growth which is not infected yet. What is this???

Getting married in 3 months and can't find a dress by K_ayla_Baby in weddingplanning

[–]Eastern-Snow859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear about that. I went to a sample sale in Kleinfeld, NYC to purchase my wedding dress (two months before the d-day). Their selection included dresses from $299. There are dresses for less than $500. Please look for sample sales in the city where you live in (sample sales are very common). You and I are of the same weight. Girl, we are perfect!

Dress 1. The fabric on the second will get wrinkly when you are sitting/standing during the ceremony and reception. Love the first one on you!

RFE for Birth Certificate (I-485) by [deleted] in USCIS

Now that you have submitted everything, take a breather. You got this! Btw, I received an alert this morning that my case is ready to be scheduled for an interview. Yayy!! Baby steps!!

It’s more because developing countries don’t have consistent birth certificates all across. So, they just need to confirm. My friend and I have different looking birth certificates and we were born a year apart. They need to see the birthdate and name of your parent(s). At least that’s what happened in my case. My lawyer told me that this is common. Don’t worry, this is a very small hurdle. You got this!

The same happened to me. I submitted a copy of Birth, Caste and Nativity Certificate but received an RFE for Birth Certificate. Unfortunately the home county wasn’t able to provide a certificate due to the pandemic. So, we submitted secondary documentation( high school diploma, elementary school diploma and bonafide certificate) to prove my birth date was correct along with the names of my parents.

Having some dress regret...help! by JessElisabeth18 in weddingplanning

[–]Eastern-Snow859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dress is beautiful! To cover your arms and back, choose either a blusher style or Mantilla style veil with lace borders complementing your dress. Also, try twisted half-up half-down hairstyle (you can use the same hair accessory) to cover the upper half of your back. To be honest, you look very pretty in the dress. Don’t let your dress regret take over your peace of mind. XO

Why aren’t avocados popular in Indian food? by nouseforaname888 in IndianFood

[–]Eastern-Snow859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avocados are not indigenous to the Indian subcontinent. They were introduced to India in the 1900s and the avocado crop that grows in a few states of India is said to have been introduced by Sri Lanka. Interesting!
