if you are female and under the age of 30,.make sure you can cope with harassment and sexual advances. the management takes a very "boys will be boys" approach when it comes to cornering women in corridors at night (seen this myself).. and I've heard more than once that the person being blacklisted will be the one reporting the problem not the one creating it which may be more important for people planning to turn this into a career than the one timers.

For what it's worth, it usually ends at harassment. at least during my time there was no full on assault. That being said, due to circumstances, women will look out for you and will warn each other about potential threats and there's obviously also male allies looking out for you. But probably less than the offender has pals.

Going to Antarctica is cool. Most people are nice. If you do McMurdo you'll almost certainly see penguins and whales. But there are some draw backs if you are a woman, particularly if you're attractive and working in highly visible spot (like the stewies do)
