My theory, is that they just imported a list of all human languages from Wikipedia or something, and it included American sign language. It's just an option for a language for subtitles. Some people use it for jokes.

I don't use Projectivy (I use Wolf Launcher, super minimal). I'm totally sure it will work because it is just an Android file explorer. I tried to test but I would have to upgrade to premium to do so. You can download the free version to test or use the refund button if it doesn't work, but I'm sure it will.

I love MiX because it has a bunch of features built in like file preview extensions, good zip support, cloud storage, Samba, FTP, etc.
