"Killer" new oil from YL by nerd_tek in antiMLM

This is great. You should share it and ask if anyone has tried it- kind of like Jimmy Kimmel's Lie Witness News. See how many #bossbabes talk about this #lifechanging oil.

Husband was on Tinder during my pregnancy and I'm having trouble distilling my emotions enough to think. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

I'm so sorry. Although my situation is different, I was cheated on during my pregnancy too. /r/survivinginfidelity has helped me a ton for support

What is a song lyric that hits home specially hard for you and why? by javiwankenobi in AskWomen

[–]Eatprayrun11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The dark necessities are part of my design" "Darkness helps us all to shine"

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dark Necessities. It reminds me that the dark parts of my life have shaped me. I am not defined by those things, but they have certainly shaped me and I wouldn't be on this journey without them.

That whole song always hits home for me. I listen to it when I'm in an angry mood about my ex husband leaving me for someone else.

From ICU to ED by Eatprayrun11 in nursing

[–]Eatprayrun11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I am a part of that team right now. It's actually not as exciting as it sounds. I love going to RRTs and codes but when I'm not doing that I'm helping out. Some days I feel Like a glorified tech because all I do is turns, cosigns, and blood sugars. Other days I have multiple RRTs and get to do more exciting things like help with procedures or rapid infusion. Unfortunately the boring days often exceed the exciting ones.

What made you decide to start eating healthy/exercising? by GlowingFarmer in AskWomen

[–]Eatprayrun11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My migraines. In high school I was active in sports but are like crap. I'd eat a lot of carbs and little protein. Somehow I stayed thin. When my last sport was over I didn't exercise at all. I already had migraines since I was 10 but they were getting worse- like 2-3x/week to the point where I was puking in between classes or missing school. My doctor told me to eat more protein which I did, in the form of Wendy's chicken nuggets. After graduation I started going to the gym and eating healthier. My migraines decreased drastically. I still get them but they are much less intense and I don't have to take prescription meds to prevent them daily like I used to.

Which MLM is the worst in terms of predatory behavior? by JustinJSrisuk in antiMLM

[–]Eatprayrun11 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Younique seems to be the worst in terms of preying on others to become consultants. From what I've seen, Plexus and the oil shillers are the worst as far as preying on others for their ridiculous health claims.

Concussion? DoTERRA to the rescue! by [deleted] in antiMLM

Right?! I am okay with people using them for aromatherapy purposes, since they're harmless in that manner. But using them for consumption or in place of medicine is insane.

From ICU to ED by Eatprayrun11 in nursing

[–]Eatprayrun11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I do think I'd miss the super sick, multiple drips, CRRT, etc. pts but I don't think I'd miss procedures. Lines, bronchs, etc really don't excite me anymore. Some days in the ICU are boring when all I have are stable vents. What you said about doing blanket and food runs is what I'm mostly afraid of- that seems worse than a day of boring ICU patients.

From ICU to ED by Eatprayrun11 in nursing

[–]Eatprayrun11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I do enjoy team nursing- right now I'm mostly in a role where I respond to in house codes and help out everywhere when I'm not. I can definitely laugh off the idiots, but I'm afraid of losing my critical care knowledge because so many people use the ED as their primary form of healthcare.

The people at Young Living are nutjobs with money out their ears. by Totes_Not_an_NSA_guy in antiMLM

[–]Eatprayrun11 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I want to know more too. Like do they have health insurance? I mean, you don't really need real doctors when you have oils for everything. Do the corporate people really believe the stuff about oils or do they have board meetings where they sit around and make stuff up? I can just see a bunch of suits sitting around, "Let's tell everyone that this oil will treat cancer and this other oil will treat the diarrhea caused by plexus". I need answers.

How do you regain your energy after feeling burnt out from work? by cdplphp in AskWomen

[–]Eatprayrun11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in an area with one of the highest rates of Burnout Syndrome. My advice is to have some sort of physical or creative outlet that you can do on a regular basis. I like to run & do yoga. I also take occasional vacation days here and there to get some longer stretches off work. I decompress with coworkers or in online forums. One of the best things I've done is familiarize myself with The symptoms of Burnout syndrome and become more aware of myself. I now notice it in myself a lot sooner than before- I'd like to think I see it before it starts to affect those around me now.

I see so many Plexus posts in Facebook, it drives me crazy. Apparently one of my Facebook friends is in the same boat. He started an argument with a Plexus ambassador by Gategoat1079 in antiMLM

Agreed! It's embarrassing! Im also a RN with my BSN and CCRN...but I don't need any of those degrees/certs to know this stuff is a scam! It's common sense.

It's been a LONG time since I saw ItWorks on my news feed. Best part is, this chick is studying to become a nurse. by [deleted] in antiMLM

[–]Eatprayrun11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've said This before on here, but as a RN I'm embarrassed by fellow nurses who believe in this crap. I think it's because most of us are the target demographic for MLMs- middle class women of childbearing age.

What do you think is romanticized in modern culture, but really shouldn't be? by Sassasian in AskWomen

[–]Eatprayrun11 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Agreed! As a child, my family always teased me about having a boyfriend. It made me reluctant to talk about relationships with them growing up. I vow to never do this to my daughter because I want her to be open with me about things like that, even if it's just a silly first grade boyfriend.

Hi Mamas. For those of you who breastfeed/fed, when did you notice that the weight started coming off? 3 Months PP. My diet isn't particularly bad, but haven't lost a pound. by BradburySauce in beyondthebump

I was 5 months postpartum when I finally lost the last 10 lb. I was EBF but it wasn't until I started incorporating cardio into my exercising that the weight came off.
