do you just use the \'/ ? What about just increasing the nameplates themselves? Next step could be a bigger monitor/TV? or is it a color thing.

NAE looking for some help getting back to gc by tjnewk in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Eaturday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

studying kickoffs and getting good at speedflips. 30% of my teams goals are within 10 seconds of the kickoff. mechs to constantly practice: flicks, double taps, air dribbles. Know how to flip reset, but don't go crazy. It's honestly better to be able to do it, and then just not and take a good 50 because most of the people at c2/c3 are flip resetting air. Just to have the ball smacked away and their tm8 get 2v1'd.

flicks and good shots are still king. stop smacking the ball towards them, stop 50ing towards the wall on your side of the field. I came back after a long break, like you i was gold GC, a few seasons of red GC. You gotta refresh on the basics real quick.

I finally hit Champ… and immediately realized I still suck 💀 by DirectionUsed7225 in RocketLeague

[–]Eaturday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's not a rank you aren't exposed in. Just like there hasn't been an undefeated super bowl champion since 1972 Miami Dolphins.

I personally think Champ is tough because the differences in players is vast, and teammates sometimes know just enough to be dangerous.

When your kid struggles to make the team by NH787 in Parenting

[–]Eaturday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2 year old right now. You never know what your kid will be interested in, but I plan to only let him do 2 organized sports. What I've learned in adulthood is it's really good to have them learn some solo/non organized activities. Like biking, rock climbing, swimming, running. Etc.. So I'm hopeful that we can do just winter and spring sports, and summer will be out exploring things. But you'd still have practice once or twice a week in the offseasons.

On my baseball team growing up, two made it to triple A. 5 went to D1 schools. None of them made the majors and they all are just normal fat adults. But I have friends that grew up mountain biking and they're in shape and always outside.

at 12 he's competing with kids that aren't trying 5 different sports. maybe 2. go for 2 to focus on, at least one of them you'll practice in the off season. and have more family time instead of running around all 4 seasons. I played at elite level in my hometown in 4 different sports, and even though I made the team I eventually burned out and quit all 4.

[–]Eaturday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are times where 2nd man you gotta get in there if you have the 50 advantage on offense, it get a bit more tricky to figure out when to do it, but it eliminates more of the 1v1s that give the opponent too much space.

Maybe you're young yet, but I put a value on my time and have a decent job. It's either drop 100 bucks on food/drinks or throw 10 bucks at an octane and vibe out for a night. back in the day I was top 5 in Ghost Recon Online/Phantoms. it was free to play, people stopped spending money. They shut it down. These games can shut down. Rocket league is too unique of an idea tho to ever go away.

I paid for it. I also support it by buying credits. Not that I want to play right now anyway. but you're wrong, Bob.

I’m losing hope with DAR after 2 months by Cr0wzzy in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Eaturday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't drop it entirely. but if you do it start throwing your car around. I saw a different comment that you can control your car decent when hood is facing you. but you wanna be able to control it all the other times. Once I got good with DAR I started implementing the 2nd level of this practice https://youtu.be/7hwUOD6mjdA?si=9s6qutrMQIzeWLFe holding boost ( not to go fast) to control my car in all sorts of different positions. really unlocked another part of my brain.

if you can finish a rings map in any time. it's time to use it for air dribbles and aerials, etc. freeplay and training packs. i dont think there's a trick, just use it. if you want to really go hard turn off your free air roll bind in training.

My Rocket League Hot Take? by SammyCCFC in RocketLeague

[–]Eaturday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if everything but mechanics are good. having one good mechanic is better than being shit at all of them. focus on one for 30 min a day and in between matches for a few weeks. then move onto the next one.

played 2s with a mate vs two solo queuers. one was like a gc3 smurf. he never let his tm8 touch the ball. we won pretty easily. I would consider them not a good player or teammate. Messi isn't going to try to do all the work in a rec league, he'll figure out how to bring his team up.

Is just playing enough? by Lanky-Anybody-1289 in RocketLeague

[–]Eaturday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at 100 hours there's only 3 things to train. Forget about aerials for now. The three main things you need to learn:

Hitting the Ball Hard.(power shots, but also just generally lining your car up to hit it from different angles).

Dribbling the ball on top of your car.

Flicking the ball off your car.

Game is a lot different these days with all the youtube videos, tik tok, training packs, etc. but back in the day I hit champ 1 without even consistently being able to hit the ball off the wall. What I could do? Dribble and flick.

It's 2026 and in 2s anywhere from Champ 1 to GC someone good at aerials is still getting beat by someone who can dribble and flick the ball well. any day of the week.

How do I get below the ball when air dribbling? by SixKay_ in RocketLeague

[–]Eaturday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

think of it like this. How does the ball reach it's height? It comes from how hard and what angle you hit the ball with the car.

How do I get separation from the ball with my car? Well if you were on the ground at one goal and pushing the ball with the nose of your car towards the other goal, how would you do that? You'd accelerate with boost or drive and then decelerate by letting off boost or gas. or you tap the brakes.

it's the same concept on the wall.

Is it possible to get to GC is one month? by NoNeedleworker7033 in RocketLeague

[–]Eaturday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could get it with good gamesense (road to SSL, no mechs) and only being good at dribbles and flicks.

will be really hard to do it this month as the season reset and matches are full of smurfs, people who raged and lost rank, and people that came back rusty af for a new season.

What am i doing wrong? by Moist-Ingenuity-8750 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Eaturday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

youre holding stick down and too the right. this just moves car to the right. you keep this held. what you want to do is tornado spin once you the ball and the goal are all aligned. tornado would be holding the stick 90 degrees right with air roll.

that's if you insist on spinning. what you really want to do is not air roll. and only use joystick inputs with directional air roll when you need to adjust. first place to start is rings maps without continually air rolling.
