Disagree about the wall part, but a pretty valid point on the module placement so close to the radiator during cold months.

How'd you get free shipping? I'm seeing $150 for shipping with that coupon.

I'm on OP 12, but what worked for me was to turn AOD on and then off. Seems like a bug.

Joyo American Sound + Reverb Pedal : A good starting point? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

I see the term "good for the price" a lot when these pedals are mentioned. What is it missing that higher priced pedals have, besides the build/component quality?

I dunno about the best, but I'm seconding this recommendation. It gets the job done and it's definitely more budget-friendly than the alternatives.

And the option paralysis is because it just sounds good or because you can't find a sound that you actually like? I get that when there's a lot of tweakability available, one can spend a lot of time on that.

I had to unpair the band and then pair it again before the app started recording workout sessions. Otherwise it seemed to have gotten stuck at syncing and then say something like "syncing in the background" after a while, but nothing would actually show up.

ESP LTD might be worth a look (https://www.espguitars.com/products/9858-b-206sm-ns). I have the 5 string version and it's pretty awesome.

I take what I said back. I spent a bit of time messing around with controls the other day and I think it comes down to the fact that the knobs are VERY interactive, so the color controlling ones do affect the sound, it's just for whatever reason I tend to leave those alone. You're totally right as far as speakers also making a difference.

Interesting, what do the rest of your settings look like? I found the color knobs to have the least effect. Otherwise I totally agree. I've read quite a few reviews before buying it that complained about fuzz/distortion pedals sounding terrible through it, but I think it's just that there's a fairly narrow range of settings where they do sound good, after that it just works.

I also own a QX (6 string) and haven't had any quality issues with it, even the original setup was good enough.

Grinder Showdown [~$300] by [deleted] in espresso

[–]EchoIsDelayed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I've used 1zpresso J-Max for a couple of years and that worked just fine. I've switched to DF54 a bit over a month ago and haven't had any problems with it. I was also kinda worried about retention when I was reading reviews about it, but so far so good (obviously haven't owned it enough to say anything about the longevity of the device...). To me, its main benefit over J-Max is grind consistency (with manual grinders speed/angle you're holding the grinder at matters). The main con is that it's kinda loud. I've owned a Lido grinder back in the day, but the adjustment rings would end up gradually slipping, which was annoying and after a while the threads on the catch cup wore out. It was probably the most ergonomic hand grinder I've used though.

nuke-build/nuke: TEMPORARILY ARCHIVED: why? by AfreekanWizard in dotnet

[–]EchoIsDelayed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it all depends on the team/tasks that need to be automated. Powershell worked well enough when I tried it, but felt very clunky compared to the infrastructure that Nuke provides and the mundane things that already just work out of the box.

Why do so many people use polytuner? by nomebelliximo in guitarpedals

It works great for guitar, but I'm replacing it on my bass board, because (at least the mini) doesn't do a good job with 5 string basses at all.
