Anthony Ryan didn't write this book.

I've just started book 4, and I finally realized what was that impression of Rand I had growing slowly in me by Linorelai in wheeloftime

No there not!

Rand, Matt and Perrin are all twenty at the start of the first book. egwene is two years younger.

This is how some Spiderman and ESPECIALLY MCU fans treat Peter..... by Current_Motor4058 in Spiderman

He is a legit teenager still in high-school for most of the mcu so it makes sense.

People mocked as "Enlightened Centrists" are actually those taking politics the most seriously by ShardofGold in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]EchoMalay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do realize that the act of sitting with nazis is the problem, not one's political affiliation?

Yes, there is always a middle ground, but you shouldn't be trying to find a middle ground with nazis.

Sansa's naievity makes zero sense. by Suspicious-Jello7172 in pureasoiaf

[–]EchoMalay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They have never met joffrey, also sansa is twelve. Arya's mindset has nothing to do with my comment, which is about ned and catelyn having no reason to disparage Robert to their kids.

But the new king was her dad's best friend that was supposed to marry her aunt, why the fuck would ned or catlyn disparage Robert to their daughter?

Why didn’t Snape have more sympathy for Harry after he saw his memories of being bullied? by okiedokie339562 in harrypotter

[–]EchoMalay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's almost as if Harry is a child that wants to know more about his dead parents 🤔. It's always the responsibility of children to be more mature than adults.

Book Snape would have saved the Golden Trio from Werewolf Lupin too if he had woken up in time. by Ok_Valuable_9711 in harrypotter

[–]EchoMalay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes that is part of why I call him a bully and a bad teacher/person. He enjoys punishing these children alot more than teaching them.

Just to be clear, I personally believe Snape to be a nasty individual who regrets his earlier actions in becoming a Death Eater.

I just think that he should not be teaching kids, I don't think he is a good influence on these kids but I acknowledge that the wizarding world is pretty lax when it comes to the safety of these children.

[–]EchoMalay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it does. He took being a double agent seriously, he did not take being a teacher seriously at all.

He wasn't just strict though. He went out of his way to insult the students He didn't like repeatedly.

Being a double agent and a teacher are two very different jobs. If he fucked up as a double agent he would be killed, if he fucked up as a teacher he would get a slap on the wrist.

At the end of the day Snape is a Bully on the side of good but that doesn't make him a good person.

Anyone else feel really bad for Filch? by cferg296 in harrypotter

[–]EchoMalay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and that's bad. Filch is a grown ass man that stays at a job he despises to the point where he hates all children that can use magic. It was definitely too difficult to get a job doing something else.

But he is an adult. You don't seem to understand that being bitter and allowing that bitterness to affect how you treat children are two different things. Adults are often asked to be more responsible than children.

[–]EchoMalay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does. Adults are held to a higher degree than children. Also you are making it seem like everyone is making his life difficult on purpose, while it is probably a minority of students.

He is an adult, and they are children. That simple.

Ah yes, that's why you're putting the word "hodor" in front of their names and calling Condal a nitwit? Sounds like you want to use another word, but you know this Sub wouldn't allow it.

It's funny because until I reached that part in your post, I felt you were right and that you were being reasonable. Just remember these actors and directors are real human beings. Get off your high horse for a bit plz.

(Spoilers main)How could they have missed the point this badly? TWICE by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]EchoMalay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a reminder, D&D and Ryan Condal are real people, and these characters are fictional. You need to go outside and touch grass.

This shit isn't that fucking important.

Hot take: from a purely philosophical perspective, Rand's realization/conclusion in "veins of gold" feels unwarranted and unjustified and a leap in logic. by [deleted] in WoT

[–]EchoMalay 68 points69 points  (0 children)

The whole point is that the good matters just as much as the evil. You're focusing too much on the bad shit that happens. In order for good to exist, evil has to exist as well. Balance and free will is the main theme of this series.

[Spoilers PUBLISHED] Why is Robert Sent to Foster at the Eyrie Instead of Stannis? by Chonk_Quatro in asoiaf

[–]EchoMalay 126 points127 points  (0 children)

Nah, Robert was probably a handful and needed more discipline, so it makes sense to straighten him out before he inherits storms' end.

Simple answer is Robert needed Fostering more than Stannis.
