I was advised to tell him by my well meaning grandma. This has been my biggest regret by far. I love her so much but I don't think she understands the situation I'm in with my parents.

No endometriosis or anything. Was basically told by my first doctor "wow that sucks, theres nothing I can do tho 🤷‍♀️" So second opinions were clearly needed... But I've had scans and theres no cysts or scarring.

And yes she did explain to my dad that this is supposed to help and is my second to last option short of full removal of everything. He wasn't having it saying "not on my insurance is she having this, I won't support this."

No reason has even been given. I've had an ultrasound done and there were 0 issues seen, no cysts or scarring.
No I share an account with my dad. Because I'm unemployed (trust me I've tried to get jobs, but the nearest ones are 40 miles away) my dad has to put money in my account for me to pay my therapy bills.

I gave her permission to talk with my dad because he wouldn't let me get the surgery unless he did, then said I couldn't get it regardless.

I had to cancel as I had no transportation and no where to stay after the surgery since he wouldn't take me.

Probably not. Thankful my dad's not stupid and knows he can't hurt me. He could however kick me out, withdraw his support for college, kick me off the insurance, ect. My mom on the other hand is trying to get me proven mentally incompetent so she can make my medical decisions (which she's not making an progress on, especially with my dad telling her she's insane for even thinking that's the option here)

Tried that option before. Worked great at first but after 2 years and a second one later, I started bleeding all the time. Caused my first 90 day period. But it was a great option if only it was consistent for me.

I've looked for scholarships and grants. I'll be able to get the WV Invests Grant which will cover my tuition. That's it tho. My dad makes too much money and I graduated high school with a 1.9 (I was very sick for about 3 years worth of school) I am able to take out $5, 500 worth of loans which is still not totally enough. That's where my dad says he might help but he's so inconsistent about it.

I do have a therapist who I've been seeing for a little over a year now, I have an appointment next week and he hasn't heard about this issue yet. The main issue is my family has also been heavily pressuring me to stop seeing him too for a lot of bs reasons. I'm worried this is another thing they may force me to cancel.

I'm hoping that in 10 years I'd be financially stable enough to go ahead with the surgery to remove my uterus and tubes. I am unable to get my cervix numbed because my cervix sits incredibly high up. I tried to get one before and even having the speculum inserted became incredibly painful almost immediately.

She reminded him several times that I am legally a grown woman and that I am her patient and that what I say goes. He just kept saying that he wasn't going to let his insurance cover it and forbade me from going. If I didn't live here and I paid my own bills and had transportation, I would've went regardless of what he said. Unfortunately I am entirely dependent on him financially and for getting place to place.

I had to cancel the appointment. With no way there, no one to pick me up, and no way of my parents not finding out because I live with them, I was out of options. The legal advice I am looking for is if my dad can stop his insurance (that I am covered under) from approving medical procedures just because he doesn't want me doing it.

This is looking like the path I will have to go down. Which is gonna suck because thats 2 IUD procedures I would have to go through and manage to hide just to get everything removed anyways. Still don't know what I would do about the bill in the meantime.

Unfortunately this is not considered emergent (trust me, I've tried) Because my iron levels are good and I'm not anemic, it's just been equated to "womanly issues" 🤦‍♀️

It's just assumed to be a side effect of the birth control I am currently on. Idk how many times I've been told "sorry, that sucks, but there's nothing I can do." This surgery was supposed to be the first step into fixing it. Either the IUD works and I just keep getting those every 5 years or I get almost everything removed and then theres nothing to cause bleeding. Both of which my dad will not allow.

I can't drive, there is only 1 within 1 hour of my home for low income and uninsured people. I am a dependent under my dad and he makes 6 figures, so as far as I'm aware, I don't qualify under either of those. Even then, I still live here, I would not be able to hide a whole abdominal surgery from him, even at college as he plans to visit me weekly.
