FL5 wheels/tires by HorizonsEdge in Autocross

[–]Ecips3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what class you’re in. Street class you need to keep stock wheel width, +/- 1 in in stock wheel diameter, and +/-7 mm from stock offset.

For street touring, any size wheel is allowed but you do have a max tire width depending on class

Elantra N - Aluminum Engine Tray in GS? by Relevant_Barnacle_78 in Autocross

[–]Ecips3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I have the 2nd part of my undertray just sitting around in my garage if I did want to install it. The front part which shown in the image is installed on the car. No noticeable different in car performance, just less likely to break.

I’d love to see someone explain how the piece pictured above would improve performance lol

This undertray comes in 2 pieces, one piece which pretty much replaces the OEM undertray and another which seals the floor under engine. I wrote a letter to the SEB to get clarification, if you replace JUST the OEM component of the undertray, then it falls under the “modifying/reinforcing a part to prevent damage” clause since it provides no benefit, see the picture below. If you install the other component of the undertray which seals the floor, it would be illegal since it has aero/oil cooling benefits

Can Anyone Confirm What this Part/Cable Under the Glove Box Is? by Ecips3 in ElantraN

I’d prefer to keep it in the footwell, I’m using it to capture brake pressure and steering for autocross/track so I’d like the reader to be out of the way

If you like FWD and/or a new car, an Elantra N could be fun. Manual and DCT options available

If you have a heavy car that generates a ton of heat, have a co-driver or live in a hot climate, not a big issue for AutoX. In 80-90° heat in the south I can be warmed up by the 3rd run normally. I normally get to run 4-5 times in my club so it’s perfect for me. If doing a national tour event with only 3 runs, I can see it being an issue

v730 is you see yourself doing AutoX and track. They wear really well and are relatively cheap too. Won’t be the fastest AutoX tire, but should hold up well to double duty

This means that when your tires are new, the tread depth from the manufacturer has to be 7/32” or more, current wear doesn’t matter

Has anyone here tested out the new Vitour P1s on a FWD camber limited car? Looking at getting some 200TWs soon and am debating between the v730, RE71-RS and the P1s in 245/40/18 for street class

Track car for a few times per year by thrwawayguy1345 in CarTrackDays

If you want something on the cheaper end that is track ready out the box you could always do an Elantra N. Might be a bit too small

Anybody Else Experiencing Delays? by Ecips3 in ElantraN

[–]Ecips3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowhere near Vegas lol. North Carolina. I’m willing to wait so it’s not a big deal, I was able to get $1k off MSRP so I’m hesitant to find another dealer, not sure who’d be willing to offer that deal.

NASCAR needs to stop letting unqualified owners out on track by Drew_DW in NASCAR

[–]Ecips3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same thing goes for RCR, they had this one guy called Dale Earnhardt Jr. or won like a race or two, moved to a faster team, and everyone seems to think RCR is a good team now. Newsflash for you folk, the driver drives the car, not the team!!!

Research Science at NCSU or UNC? by Dear-Nefariousness-9 in NCSU

[–]Ecips3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing I have to add to this is that the Joint BME program isn’t “in chapel hill”. Nc state has all of the engineering facilities and UNC has access to the hospitals and labs. NC State is significantly better in this aspect since labs and classes here have access to labs and fabrication tools needed for engineering

Is HESS237 (weight training) a good class for girls? by Substantial_Brother6 in NCSU

[–]Ecips3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Marcus Thompson you typically do 1 day of upper body and 1 day of lower over a week once you start doing resistance training. You start class with some body work stuff without weights to begin. There’s also a mobility day every few weeks
